I knew we needed to think about a new buck, this year, but wanted to make sure we made the right choice. I was going to push back a year and just haul our Holler daughters to be bred, but one night I opened FB to a group of bucklings made available and decided I would consider it. As one does, I’ve always admired the Wingwood herd, but last year and this year had the honor of helping handle many does at the shows and picking the brain of their amazing caregiver. Seeing how these does not only shine in the ring but excel at functioning outside of it is so valuable when picking genetics that you want capable of experiencing “real life”. I put my trust in the opinion of a breeder that knows her goats, and knows some of the things we need. When her recommendation aligned with some of the goats we had gravitated towards I was sold and made the jump. I like to tell Fauna all her goats have the same name and we joked that he was gonna be “George” cause that was easier and it stuck 😂. George has already bred a few does so hopefully we’ll have some announcements to post soon. I need to get some good pictures of him, but we’ve been breeding in the dark and it’s officially the season where bucks are gross so volunteers are welcome to come sacrifice themselves to that feat 🤢
