Last night’s views from the farm… SWEET CORN ALERT!

We grow a few rows of flowers strictly for our own enjoyment and I have been obsessed with these giant zinnias! You won’t find us with these at any market because we know some lovely cut flower growers who are dedicated to this craft 🫶🏼🌼

And now… a drumroll… last week at Cooperstown Farmers Market quite a few folks asked about sweet corn and it just so happens… it’s ready for today! A modest harvest to start and please remember, this sweet corn (just like all of our vegetables) is Certified Naturally Grown. No sprays, herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers of any kind. If this stuff flies, we’ll have a pile of it the next time you come see us!

Reminder that we're an indoor market, so we're open 10am-1pm rain or shine! However, for our outdoor vendor's safety, they'll be sitting this one out. We'll have to wait until next week for more of those amazing empanadas from Mía's Cocína, but we'll see you soon in the Hall of Ag at the Cobleskill Fairgrounds!

After a couple weeks off, we’ll be back on Sunday at the Schoharie County Farmers Market!! Come get some of these colorful goodies - and a bunch more!! 🫑🌶️🥒🫛🥔

If you’re a canner, we will have large amounts of pickling cukes and possibly beans 🫙😋

This is what it’s all about! Shop and eat local!

Eleven local farms and businesses went into the making of this meal! From one of our volunteers:

“I wanted to share a dinner from earlier this week. As I made my plate, I realized just how many of our neighbors had a hand in putting it together!

- Long Future Farm (steaks)
- Rooted Acres (salad greens)
- Vampire Garlic (dill, carrots)
- Four Elements Farm (beets)
- Slate Hill Lavender Farm (lavender balsamic vinegar, herbs de provence)
- Hidden Pond Gardens (microgreens)
- Bread Too! (sourdough)
- Red Fox Orchard, found at Empty Pockets Ranch (apple c***r)

And of course, you can’t forget dessert:
- Austintacious (chocolate bar)
- Ooh Fudge It! (maple walnut fudge)

I found some of them at the Seward Farmers and Artisans Market, some at the Schoharie County Farmers Market, and others through Cornell Cooperative Extension Schoharie and Otsego Counties’ Family Farm Day or because they're just down our road. Thanks to each of these farms and small businesses for filling our fridge and pantry with tasty ingredients we can trust!”

I have not been doing the best job promoting our markets, but we’re at Schoharie County Farmers Market on Sundays and Cooperstown Farmers Market on Tuesdays, and we love being part of these amazing groups of vendors 🩷🫜
