Good afternoon all and why yes it’s a scorcher out there pushing 90! That’s good it gets your blood going and your thoughts of cool mornings sitting in a blind hunting ducks. It could be a family activity or a bunch of avid hunters , and yes on private land. We are about a week away from launching the website and bookings begin. Please take the time to look at whether it’s a morning hunt or an afternoon one. It only get messed up twice last year, and we accommodated them. From what we’ve seen the millet and duckweed is everywhere and more then we seen in four seasons past. Six blinds for now and three to a blind.

Good morning all!! Ah it’s nice to awake to the lower 60’s instead of 80. Even better is that our chickens are laying again after being moved. Now mind you it might be in three places 😂 but they are laying eggs. The ranch survived the storm and now it’s going to be a watering game with the pasture that was seeded. Okay it looks like the power washer will be the tool of choice. Hear me out before you laugh. You can reach 100 feet out and without having to walk on it. The only way to make it better would be a slight breeze to help with the middle area. Fence wood arrived and will go up tomorrow so the fence will be looking good and finished. Next week is going to be sheep set up. Stalls and feeding areas then a huge disinfectant of the barn. At that point the sheep start to arrive. Then every 90 days another set comes in. After four rotations the first set goes to the butcher as another set comes in. 90 day rotation on lambs which enables us to work with the animals that give comfort to all. Okay off to me day only after y’all go hug your dog

Good evening everyone and yes everyone survived the storm and pasture switch. I can pick the days I’ll tell ya!! Everyone got moved out back and all was great till the weather changed and my bougie animals wanted to be in the old pasture. After a long night of babysitting them and explaining there’s nothing I can do to stop it (mind you in the pouring rain ffs) they finally came around. Today was smooth after one hell of a storm band I went to give some treats outback. All animals were happy as can be except for me . Once back in the side by side I discovered fire ants on my legs and boots. Ugh stripped from the waist down and hauled ass to the house. Not bad about five or so bites but not fun. So I go check the cameras out front on the Scottish long horns and find one missing. It’s Ben one eyed good boi Ben. Fencing in his horns and he is oblivious that he is outside of the fence. Mind you he is a full size Scottish highland cow so around 1600 pounds. He is easy to get back in as long as you stay in his line of sight. Then a quick fence repair and everyone is tucked in currently so good night moon and please go hug your dog!!

Okay serious question here. Why do farm animals wait for inclement weather to raise cain? I swear they have an agenda none of us know about 😂. Funny yes but in a side by side in the rain moving bovine was not my idea of a peaceful easy feeling. I’ll be right here wet waiting for some wisdom from y’all. Herefords and Angus are trouble my highland crew are just chilling enjoying life. Two species no they are both cows so what gives ? This is the kind of stuff keeps me up at night watching cameras waiting for the brake out looming
