Story 🧡

Ruby the cow has quite a story. As a heifer, she almost didn’t survive a severe foot injury and infection. Her very kind previous owner went above and beyond to save her. That same year Ruby delivered her first calf.

When we adopted Ruby as a “special needs” cow, none of us knew how many (if any) more calves she would be able to carry. We gave her a soft spot to land with no expectations.

At six years old now, Ruby has blessed us with three more beautiful calves. A smart, quiet cow who breeds back quickly, and wants/needs no help with her babies. She’s a dream to have in the pasture.

And now she has given us a dreamy little girl.

The only British White in a herd full of Highlands, Pepper is the best mom, the best nurse cow, and one of the gentlest souls here.

If she has any flaws, we haven’t found them.

The only one might be that she isn’t a Highland. 😆

The power couple … Everett & Stevie. 😍

These two always seem to strike a pose when the camera comes out.

Everyone knows Everett, but today let’s talk about Stevie.

She was one of the very first Highlands we brought home, and she has been a favorite ever since. Compact, sturdy, and full of personality.

Each year, she has given us beautiful white and silver calves. Last year she shocked us with silver twins!

We are anxiously waiting to see what she’s been working on for this fall. 🤍
