About the little guy -
He is a black (registered) highland. He will be a steer. His eyes are deep, smokey blue. Demeanor is quiet and cautious, until it’s not. He has a saucy side!

New calf, new challenge.

We have an “I had that, but I don’t want it” situation with Moonstone and her first calf. Meanwhile, we have Pearl (our solid black British white) who recently lost her calf saying “I sure would love to have him.” 🥹

We managed to get Moonstone confined with her calf. He has had initial colostrum and newborn processing. We will give Moonstone space and time + continue to work with her. Sometimes these new mommas just need a minute!
Any mom can relate, right?!

She’s an excellent mother and an easy one to work with. A beautiful cow out of Dusty Wild Rose Heritage 5D and Cloud 9.

Mamba gets little to no exposure around here. With Everett and Egan - the big bulls - throwing out calves, Mamba has been quietly waiting his turn. We held on to this guy even though we debated multiple times about whether to let him go. His first calves are arriving and we are so very pleased. Meet Mamba ( bred bull) in his almost-a-grown-bull stage…3 yrs old. He is one cool dude. 😎
