It has been a tough year here at River Road Rabbitry. There’s been days where I was ready to sell out all together and others where I’m excited for the future of the herd.

Right now I have a total of 7 kits in the nest box and zero does bred. The last round of breedings didn’t go well, we were 0/6. I contribute it to the heat this time of year. The 7 are too young to evaluate, but I do have a couple older juniors that I have retained for myself.

My herd is still mainly Blue Eyed Whites and Vienna carriers but I do have a few brokens and torts. Below are two of my current favorites. I do not have any availability at this time and am not planning on sending any to convention or going myself.

I am excited about the Tort color project at River Road Rabbitry, but Blue Eyed White still are my favorites. Pictured are two carrier does and two BEW bucks. The bucks are from two different litters, but have the same dam, King’s KET. I’m excited to watch them all mature, and I hope the two bucks go on to become herd bucks when they are older.

Tort and tort carrier Mini Rex are weaning age. These 4 made the cut for now. 3 does and 1 buck. It’s hard when you start with a new variety and multiple lines. You have to see what crosses work best for your herd. I am happy with how these are maturing though, and am excited to continue to grow my tort herd.

Any interest in young (around 12 weeks) turkeys, guineas, pullets or possibly a cockerel or 2?

I’m keeping a few. But this is what I know I have that can go to a new home:

1) a pair of Royal Palm Turkey poults
2) 4 Guineas. I don’t know if they’re males or females.
3) 1 black Copper Maran cockerel and a surprise Barnyard mix.
4) 3 Sapphire Gem pullets.

I also have a single Lovebird looking to fly with his cage.

Any birds in the video you’re interested in, shoot me a message and I may let them go. You never know.

What doesn’t sell before Sunday will go to the auction or be kept. 🤷🏻‍♂️🐓🦃🦜🐥👨🏻‍🌾
