Great news!! Tomorrow morning I will be picking beef up 🥩 Just in time for Labor Day weekend! 🍔 The farmstand should be restocked by Friday morning but keep your eyes out for another post saying it is officially in the stand because these three cuties keep me busy that I never know for sure what will be thrown into our day.

Unfortunately, this good news also comes with some not as great news. I will be raising my prices slightly as well as taking away the 10 pounds & over $5/pound ground beef deal. I sincerely apologize and wish I did not need to make these changes but with increased rates for the processing of beef & increased feed costs to raise the animals I have prolonged this change as long as I could but needed to make this decision for the success of the farm stand. Please look at the white board for the new prices or feel free to private message me and I can send an updated cost list. Thank you for your understanding!

‼️‼️Exciting news!!! Thanks to my WONDERFUL neighbor we have a couple of sour dough loafs in the farm stand this weekend!! They look delicious 🤤 🍞🥖

I did a little sprucing up of the farmstand & added this curtain to see if it helps cut down on dust from the road. So don’t forget to peak behind it because there are plenty of goodies behind there.

I added a few other new products & updated the “library”
🐓🩷 adorable Hen on a Nest 3-D printed key chains (I had to keep one for myself)
🫜🫙 pickled radishes, something new I tried this year and they are yummy! (Would like to hear peoples reviews of these as I will do another crop of radishes to make more)
🪴🌱 a few new plants!!
🥚 will be in the fridge & 🐓🐔🍗 will be in the freezer!

Have a wonderful weekend! If you’re visiting Derby Line day come stop in, we aren’t too far of a drive past 😃🌞

Don’t tell Sadie but Meat birds will be hitting the freezer later today!

While we are unfortunately still out of beef & pork we will have yummy whole bird chickens ready to go this weekend! These have grown great this year and I can’t wait to see what they weight and how they taste! As in past years I only keep a few in the freezer at once so if you would like more than two please send me a message to arrange pick up.

Enjoy! 🐓🍗🐔

I am extremely grateful for how quickly we sold out of beef this last time… all gone in less than 2 weeks 😳 but I am also EXTREMELY sorry that this means no meat until August 😩

I am also WAY behind in any sort of posts. While the Farmstand is a big part of our life there are many other parts (photos for evidence) keeping us busy. We have been having a wonderful summer so far and hope everyone else is as well!! The toddlers are absolutely loving taking care of the animals and the first thing I hear when I get them up in the morning is… feed cows, feed pigs, feed peep peeps. It makes my Farm Mom heart burst with happiness ❤️

While we are out of meat the fridge is freshly stocked with eggs, we have some beautiful flower arrangements for sale, as well as a few new products- locally made soaps & lotions as well as earrings!

The last few weeks I have been on a streak of getting a new product into the farmstand weekly! I am hoping to keep this going throughout the summer 🤞🏻

A few days behind but who’s counting this week we have whipped tallow lotion made by my neighbor down the road whose farmstand I had recently shared about! I have never been one to have a skin care routine, my poor skin is lucky to even get lotion most of the time but after she gifted me my own jar of the tallow lotion I love putting it on after a shower and finally have my own simple routine using this lotion. It is so refreshing and moisturizing to the skin.

Check it out in the Farmstand! $10 a jar

If you have stopped by recently I apologize for the very, very empty fridge. Our next cow went yesterday so we should be restocked in the next couple of weeks! Until then we have plenty of eggs and other goodies for you to check out.

Happy June Folks!! Which means Dairy Month!! 🐮🥛

When driving by our farm & farmstand you can see a sign on are shop reading “DKB Dairy LLC” & I have been asked several times recently why we have two different names for our businesses.

So let me explain to you & give a short background on our farm to kick off Dairy Month!!

I hope to make several posts over the month telling you about our farm and the dairy industry so stay tuned!

Dustin and I have both grown up in the dairy industry and the passion we shared for dairy farming is what originally brought us together. Dustin grew up on his families dairy farm in Addison County while I grew up on the farm we are at now, formerly known as Green Valley Organic. In 2020 we met and in the fall of that year I made a very difficult decision to leave my families farm and move to Dustin. The next spring of 2021 we decided to open Vermont Roots Farmstand together as our own business separate from his families farm. We continued to run Vermont Roots together, Dustin worked on his families farm and I worked at a neighboring farm for a couple of years. In the spring of 2023 within a few weeks of each other both of our families decided that it was time to sell out. We were given the opportunity to purchase my families farm so we packed everything up including around 40 heifers we owned at that point, 80 chickens and a few pigs and goats and moved up here! On March 6 of 2024 (our twins were only 5 days old 😅) we signed the paperwork to officially become DKB ( Dustin & Katie Brace) Dairy LLC and own the farm. And here we are 2 years later! Another sweet baby, a lot more grey hairs but lots of love & happiness.

So in the long & short of it Vermont Roots has been our business throughout the changes of the last few years and has earned its own name separate from the dairy! 😃 If you made it this far in my long post, thank you!!!

Let me know what you would like to learn about our farm this month!
