Our English Shepherd, Nuala, has the instinct to herd but we could never get her to the point where she was biddable. She is just too headstrong to do what we ask her all the time. So, she spends her late afternoons just watching them graze. It’s her happy place and we love seeing her happy. Good dog, Nuala. “That’ll do.” swithsheep

Sweet little patch of wild fleabane by the stone wall. And the deliciously scented peonies. What a delightful time of year! I am loving every minute watching nature unfold its beauty.💐

The end of another stellar day. Cool and dry- just right for getting things done. The peonies have popped and the scent is intoxicating! The sheep are happy with new grass and cooler temps, as am I. Wish it could stay like this all summer!

Although we hand pulled the cattails in the pond last fall, they still managed to repopulate😏Ugh, it’s a never ending battle. If we didn’t dig then the whole pond would be full of them. Anyway, it was a gorgeous day yesterday for work or play. We did a little of both😁Picked the first strawberries today. Yum!

Sure felt like this song today. Hot and humid. Too hot for me. I got some mulch down on the blueberry patch this morning and then I moved inside to get orders packed up, edit the website and prepare for our farm store re-opening in a couple of weeks! Here comes summer!

So I did a thing. Against my better judgement, I planted my tomatoes and peppers. Maybe a wee bit too soon but if they can hold on for another day or 2, it will be have been worth it. Still have more to plant but hoping I’ve gotten a head start🤞
