We breed APHA reining horses, rope horses and reined cow horses, and produce World Champions!

We stand multiple World Champion QTs Cajun Cub and multiple World Champion and NRCHA Champion Peptos Smart Cookie. Finally Farm Paints is a small, family-owned and operated horse breeding business. We are building a fantastic broodmare band, and breeding to top stallions. We produce athletic APHA performance horses, with a pleasant dispositions and beautiful color. Our babies are handled from birt

h, and trained to lead, back, give to pressure, and lift up feet by the time they are a month old. Our early training and handling ensures that these horses will be easily started under saddle with little fuss and stress. They are turned out in a large pasture, with lots of opportunity to run and to develop their bodies. Our babies are given the best of care and opportunities; we send them to top trainers, and strive to sell to show homes.

We let the mares (and Tahoma) out to a different pasture today. The grass is almost tall as they are! A little at a time, today they are only out there for an hour. We will increase time gradually.

I turned one mare out this morning and turned the water on to fill the tank. Then, I turned out 3 more horses, went to feed the other barn, turned out those horses, got grain ready, got hay ready, cleaned some paddocks, did the water buckets, and then turned out the last mare. At which point I remembered the water hose was still on!

Bonnie (Dual Delta Blue) watches her own uterine lavage. Her uterus was flushed post breeding. During her ovulation check today (she did ovulate!) the vet found fluid. The flush should remove fluids, dead s***m and inflammatory cells resulting from post breeding inflammation. She will also receive oxytocin injections to help her uterus contract and remove fluid. Breeding is often not a simple process! She was bred to QTs Cajun Cub yesterday.

Apollo just opened the door of the feed shed and walked inside even though he has a bunch of hay in the feeder outside. The hay in here must taste better?

Luckily, he was very amenable to being shooed out. And the feed shed has a lock so he can't get in unless I am inside.

Nap time for babies! It's a beautiful sunny day and Joy and Tahoma decided to take an afternoon nap together. QTs Delta Zydeco and Peptos Arctic Blast. QTs Cajun Cub x Dual Delta Blue. Peptos Smart Cookie x Sacred Mountainbreeze.

I wish they wouldn't lay down this close to the fence, but this area seems to be a favorite. It must be soft and warm. I have my laptop outside to work and I kept an eye on them. If they made a move to roll into the fence, I was going to yell at them, but now they're both up.
