The veggies grown on our farm have minimal chemical inputs. We always strive to meet our plants' needs naturally! Our produce is harvested at peak ripeness when a vegetable is at it's absolute best flavor and nutritional value.

Happy Sunday!✨

Did you know that farmers work on Sundays, too?

“Farmer Zach left at 5:30 this morning for the Bethany Beach market and Farmer Jenny went outside right before sunrise to survey the crops and as soon as the dew evaporated, she fertilized and sprayed the tomatoes and peppers for pests. When you spray right as the sun starts touching the plants, the stomata are fully open and able to absorb the nutrients. She then sprayed the six tomato and pepper houses with calcium, potassium, neem oil (for aphids, mites, thrips, leaf miners and for fungal diseases) and BT(for 🐛 ). Then she came inside and made up a dozen eggs for breakfast🥚🍳

After breakfast, Farmer Jenny then has to feed and water the cows, turkeys and chickens, water the greenhouse and collect the eggs. The rest of the day is laundry, dishes, paperwork and napping 😝.

“I use Sundays to work on invoices and making the schedule for the week. When I survey the crops I make note of what needs to be done this week (plant basil, w**d carrots, harvest kale, prune tomatoes, put up shade cloth, mow…)and come up with the plan for the crew and what days to get it done.”
