Built the babies a panel wall so they can get back and forth to mamas as they choose! And bonus get some of their own feed started 😊
Newly established family farm! Current offerings are fresh eggs, plans for fresh produce this summer
Operating as usual
Built the babies a panel wall so they can get back and forth to mamas as they choose! And bonus get some of their own feed started 😊
Someone’s at grandma’s house but grandma sent me the reaction that her ewe had her lambs finally (after doing her best to convince us she wasn’t even pregnant) Rosie has had ram lambs the past 2 years and Carli has discussed many times she needs to have ewe lambs this year…twin ewe lambs = excited little girl! God Is Good!
Weatherman calls for a blizzard so we get a baby! Thank God for miracles 🥰 just yesterday dad & I were convinced none of the others were pregnant…
I attempted pictures but hours old lamb twins are not okay staying still!?! Daisy was a champ & popped out a boy and a girl all on her own early this morning (we wont focus on me getting filthy before driving bus and having to change clothes!) My favorite part of farming is watching God’s miracles through new life!?!
So baby watch shouldn’t officially start until Sunday (yes my math is Xmas day till Valentines day LOL) the weather has me on edge - so theyre in the barn!
Hoping all but the 2 youngsters are bred! Took advantage of the beautiful weather to ready the barn for Christmas through Valentines when we should have lambs! My favorite farm smell is fresh sawdust in clean pens!?! Wishing all our farm friends a Happy Thanksgiving week! We hope you have quality time together with the ones you love!
We are back in the chicken egg business! I’ve been looking for a while for a flock to restart with and finally found a retiring farmer downsizing!?
It has been pretty quiet over here at the farm. The family life is popping!
We are out of the goat business for now and working on finding more chickens to expand the flock. The sheep are hopefully bred so that will be the next big happenings around here. Theyre due Christmas to Valentines so we’ve been busy getting the barns ready so we don’t have to do it in the cold!
Hope life is well with all of our followers!?! And as always thank you for supporting our farm!
How’s it going Facebook friends are possibly wondering…the heat and the bugs have us pulling plants already…we have so many tomatoes on but none are turning red.
We knocked the goat herd down to 3 pretty ladies with the main purpose now for 4-H instead of selling goat meat.
In all the fun of summer we didnt get another order of meat birds done as we originally hoped.
As disappointing as all this is we keep plugging along & raising our small humans which is really the most important part of being parents!
Thank you all who have supported our farm! Remember we still have lots of firewood if anyone wants to stock up before the snow flies!?!
Come up & see us 5-7 at the City Park Market!
What do you want to buy Thursday at the market? Breads, cookies, bars, snacks? Hoping for cucumbers & maybe some zucchini & yellow curved neck squash! Lots of cherry tomatoes on the plants just need to turn red & handful of green tomatoes too 🙃
Tonight was going to be our 1st city park market of the season with some cucumbers & a couple zucchini but mother nature has cancelled it. Hopefully her rains will give us an even more bountiful supply for next week! Stay dry friends!!!
We are getting closer to being at market! Hopefully next week we will have enough to sell!?!
We wont be there but our friends over at Oak Grove Farms plan to be there!!!
We will not be at the City Park Market tonight as the garden doesn’t have goodies to share yet.
Welp it took all 6 of us but we are smarter than the escape goats this morning!?! Ps the smarties unchained the gate - it has 2 wires on it now too!?! Humans 1 goats 0 🤣🤣🤣
So glad i snapped this pretty peony before the storm rolled in! Half inch of rain in 30 minutes is all that happened here.
Fresh radishes 3 sandwich bags $2 each let me know!
Lots of work on the farm this weekend mixed with graduation celebrations! We have added some color to our duck & geese flock the past couple weeks! We have duck eggs available if anyone is interested.
It has been a crazy month here! Adenoids out, weaning babies, Easter complete with an egg hunt in the snow, selling babies, trying to break babies to lead, 1st Communion, and kite flying with uncle David ❤️
An animal of some kind has depleted our chicken flock the past week. 2 hens & 2 roosters is where we are today. Kevin Wissner has chicken eggs if anyone is in need while we rebuild once the varmint issue is resolved. We still have duck eggs if they’ll work for you!
3 babies on the farm today! This one is adorable & very unexpected ❤️
Update: orders are full this round! Keep an eye out as we plan to have another round later in the year!
Place your order today for fresh farm raised chicken this summer! Will be raising a limited number so get on the list today. $3/# dressed - whole chickens only - this batch hits almost 5# each & tastes just as good in July fresh as it does today off the grill!
Just playing with babies over here on this no school day!
Is anyone interested in container garden plants?
Would you like already started packs? "salad bowl" variety pack (multiple lettuces to last the seasons), "salsa" variety packs (already started tomato, onion, jalapeno & cilantro plants)
ATTENTION: In the best interest of community wellness the Adair County Fair Board Annual Soup Luncheon planned for Sunday has been POSTPONED. A new date will be determined at a later time. Please spread the word.
What did the farmer get when he crossed an owl with a goat? A ‘Hootenanny.’
*follow us for more bad dad jokes*
Pretty girl Daisy lambed today finally! Handsome little buck - Dumbo’s only surviving offspring- with good luck he will breed for us for the C&E’s 1st year of 4-H lambs!?!
Last blog post for 2021 - the goal for 2022 is to do at least one a week!
Happy Holidays to all our friends and customers!
As I ponder the ending of 2021 and the new beginning of 2022 it makes me wonder..."What do you want?" I don't mean me, myself, and I. I am talking about my family, friends, and community members. I really want to be a farm that can provide all the wants for our community, but I need to know what tho...
Got one egg today! Maybe this means theyll be laying again soon!!!
Beautiful day yesterday 🙏🏻 we have been so blessed
The best!?! 2 new ones plus all 20 in outside pens snuggled up is a great Thursday start!
Dont mind us just over here having more kids to the farm! Tonight makes 11 on the ground & 14 nannies (goats) plus one ewe (sheep) to go by Christmas
A day in the life…lunch break turned into a 30 minute chase to corral these hooligans back into the pasture 🤷♀️ I believe too many of the farmers here haven’t quite learned the art of securely fastening gates!?! These are the ladies soon to give birth any day (not that I’m being impatient or anything) HAHA
