True words and big responsibilities. Bring your best so the next generation can be better.
Just beyond the fence line…
Where shavings dust the air and the morning hums with blowers and clipper blades, they are watching.
Shuffling boots. Hands too small to hold much more than a halter. Eyes wide enough to believe that every part of this life is possible for them, too.
They stand there longer than anyone notices. Quiet. Learning. Studying the way you brush the hair forward like it means something more than just brushing hair forward.
Because it does.
They do not see the long nights yet. They do not feel the weight of the losses. They only see the lights, the gate swing open, and the moment the names of older brothers and sisters are announced and applauded.
And they are memorizing the rhythm of it all.
Just beyond the fence line, they are inching closer to the open gate. One day, the halter will fall into their hands, and the weight of responsibility will settle onto their shoulders just like it did for the siblings they followed.
They will carry the tone of this place forward. Not because someone told them to. Because they watched you do it first.
So step gracefully and boldly through the ring like someone is learning from you. Stand in the backdrop like someone is measuring themselves against your courage. Work in the quiet like someone is building their future from your example.
The next generation is already loaded into the holding pen. Whether they know it yet or not, what you show them now is shaping what they believe is possible here.
