Rendered kidney fat sourced from our pasture-raised Black Angus steer harvested last month. This tallow has a beautiful golden color from beta-carotene, a natural plant pigment found in fresh green grass and legumes. We finish our steers with alfalfa, a perennial plant in the legume family.

Tallow products have been restocked in our farm store.

If you have visited our farm store and our livestock, you may have noticed a building attached to our pig pen. This building is our Farrowing House used when our mama pig is ready to deliver her babies. We put Mama in the crate when delivery is imminent. When she farrows (delivers), a safe area is maintained around Mama reducing the risk of Mama accidentally smothering her babies. As you can see in the photo, Mama weighs around four-hundred pounds and the babies at birth are one-to-two pounds. One-day after Mama delivers she starts going outside for breaks while her babies stay in a safe area inside the farrowing house.
