We serve farm to table cafe menu, using wood fire grill, smokehouse and wood fire brick oven. Old Germantown is located at W148N12696 Pleasant View Drive. We are 120-acre farm and our café is 1,000 feet from the road. You won’t see the building at all when you are coming from the south. If you know where Freistadt Road is you will easily find us. Take Freistadt Road to Pleasant View Dr. (refer to

the coordinate W148). Pleasant View Drive is the first road east of Pilgrim Road. We are almost 1 mile north of Freistadt Rd. on the east side of the road (refer to coordinate N12696)

You can also find Pleasant View Drive by using Rockfield Road. Drive east on Rockfield Rd. until it dead ends on Pleasant View Drive. Turn right and head south. You can also find Pleasant View Drive if you coming from the north on Country Aire Drive. Follow Country Aire until it turns north into Bonniwell Rd. You will soon find Pleasant View Drive and must turn to drive south. Our driveway is gravel, surrounded by cropland. The driveway is wider than most, about three football fields long, and leads straight to the barn. Follow the gravel driveway in front of the barn that leads you to our parking lot.

Big, big news! Welcome Sheboygan hard rolls!
Before we started we wanted the best rolls to complement our sausages, sandwiches and burgers. Very glad to report that our old friends from West Side Bakery in Sheboygan have agreed to drive the distance and partner with us. Exploring the trades must start early. My grandson just turned two and appears to like masonry. Chicken 65. A fried chicken app from South India and popular at British Curry Houses. We take the popular spice mix and make it into an all-chicken dog made with a snappy sheep casing. The smokehouse helps bring out the Kashmiri chile. A couple more liberties include our homemade curry sauce and sprinkles of Serrano peppers. Try it in a basket or on the sampler platter. That iconic shape is two centuries old. Pressed into a flat and rectangular shape, it is immediately recognized as one of the world’s favorite fermented, cooked, smoked, and dried meat stick. Landjagers are well known in northern Europe and locally, thanks to the German and Swiss immigrants when they settled in nearby areas.
Like those early settlers, OG made its own low-tech sausage press. Our recipe was developed with years of family feedback. Equally important was a strong focus of the fermentation process of dosing the meat mix with a unique lactic acid culture. Wisconsin residents have always preferred that slightly sour taste that develops in dried sticks (and summer sausage) when a culture is added before the meat is stuffed into a natural hog casing. Given the right temperature and the right amount of time, the smallest amount of a culture will naturally drop the pH to a level that both helps to preserve the product and creates a flavor profile that could be described in products that include vinegar, sauerkraut, yogurt, and even our own sourdough. The culture we use, and the precise temperature and humidity we apply create big flavors.
To the sausage maker, landjagers can be very labor intensive but worth the effort.

Thinking about spring today. A pause in the wind and the rain provided a beautiful start to the morning. A great day tor me is enjoying the drive to my brother’s winery. Ask me about the scenic route and plan to visit on Saturday, May 30 for MaiFest. A day of traditional music, fun and food. Friends of OG will be there, including The Freistadt Alte Kameraden and Ryan Kautzer Band. We will be serving Nuremberg and Thuringer bratwurst. We will have our Landjagers snd Milwaukee pretzels with Matterhorn cheddar from Widmer's Cheese Cellars. Additional German faire from the legendary Kegel’s Restaurant will be served.
