Our quail hens must be happy. Look at the size of these eggs… even put them agains a small chicken egg from a new layer. Wow! Unfortunately the biggest quail eggs was cracked on the tip.

These piggy’s were bigger this year by far. 311, 320, 324 and 341 lbs last year the highest was 290. So blessed to have wonderful food here on the farm. Along with customers always support and sharing. ❤️

Well a rebel canning method worked just fine for me more than once. This one was shells and cheese. Made some to test out and after a month or so I tried it. Tasted great. Little girl loves it. That was my lunch today! Added a bit of milk as the first batch I filled a bit to fill so it leaked out a bit.
Here’s to shelf stable quick meals.
And yes my homemade Alfredo came out so good. Waited for a test period and then tried it. It was so thick I added some milk to it also and made enough for the family to eat and have leftovers.

Found a new clutch of eggs. They love to lay someplace where they should not lay. Let’s try the nesting boxes ladies. 😂😜

Here are the other 7 baby quails. Moved them into the brooder with the other 8. Checked the rest of the eggs and most of them were not even fertilized.

Whoop whoop the quails are hatching in their own time.

Total count so far is 15. And yes my rocking and rolling egg finally hatched this afternoon. But I did not get to see which one came out of it. 😔

Just the first 8 are in brooder now. Rest will go in tonight once fully dry.

Blessed to have the flock growing.

Not gonna lie I am a sore mama today. Spent the day cleaning out, cleaning, laying v***r barrier down and then some rigid foam down. Next step will be to get some ply wood and lay it down then some linoleum for easy cleaning.
One half of the Bird Barn is almost down. It will be staying warmer at night inside. .

Let the fun begin. Tomorrow is hatch day and we have 4 already. Let’s see how many hatch out of the 41.

Was feeding and collecting this evening and wanted to say hi to the babies but they were too busy eating next to the mamas. ❤️🥰
