Last year it was too much rain and flooding. This year? We are in the middle of the brown spot on the map. Oh I just love farming.

Our vineyard is getting to be a regular menagerie. First, a snake in the apple trees, now a fawn under the scuppernongs.

I was out thinning our heirloom apples this morning when I found this local resident taking a nap. A 5-foot black snake!

Pre-picked Asian persimmons are also available, 3 for $1.

We have opened both our front and back vineyards this weekend, and the vines continue to be very full with lots of grapes and lots of varieties ripe for picking. It's peak picking season!
