Happy National Farmers day! Here's to the one's that make it all happen! If you know a farmer, be sure and thank them today. To Farmer's it's not about social media posts, recognition, or a popularity contest. To Farmer's it's not about the pagentry of "farming" or some sort of "spotlight" or some made up lifestyle. It's about what has to be done when people AREN'T watching. When there aren't any thank you's or pats on the back. It's about getting it done, no matter what. Making things happen, whatever it takes. Failing more times than you care to admit and getting back up, dusting yourself off and keep moving forward. Farming is about understanding that everything counts on you to take care of it, the animals, plants, the fences, the land, equipment (don't forget, farmers have families too). It's not something you can just walk away from and forget about for a while. Everything depends on the FARMER. It's about actually Farming and knowing everything depends on you to be it's caretaker and steward and failure is NOT an option.
We would like to thank all the today. For all the late nights, early mornings. the mud, wind, rain, snow, HEAT, broken fences, busted equipment, and stubborn animals, all of the sacrifice it takes to care for all that comes with farming, and usually leaving your own well being on the back burner to make sure all is well for everything else. THANK YOU FARMERS for all you do!
