Day 2 of our Red Mountain gather done. The cows were a little "sticky"; they weren't exactly ready to come home. The crew is out again today, looking for the last few holdouts, and then we roll into fall corral work. A huge thanks to all the friends who came along the last few days. We really appreciate your time and help.

That's a wrap for our first drive of the season. A huge THANK YOU to our friends and family that gave their time and energy to help us out. Good morning Highway 135 Travelers! The cows are coming home!!! We have two drives this coming week.

This coming Wednesday, September 30, 2026, we will be bringing a herd down Brush Creek Road from Trampe's gate to across from Skyland. Look for us after noon, not certain precisely when we'll get there, but hoping to be done by three. If you are coming for photos, please be respectful of the herd and don't put yourself in a position that slows down the cows and cowboys (you will get yelled at if you turn the herd).

THE FOLLOWING MORNING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2026, WE WILL BE COMING DOWN THE HIGHWAY BETWEEN 7:30 AND 9:30 AM. We will start across from Riverland and head south to mile marker 22. We will, as always, do our best to keep the ladies to one side of the road, but cows will be cows. Same photo rules apply.

This begins our fall gather, so we'll try and keep you updated on the big drives. However, we will have herds crossing the road randomly so please be aware and be watchful. As always, be safe, slow down, and enjoy the ride!

The National Western Stock Show is proud to announce the launch of a new heritage award: "Ranches of the West". This prestigious award will honor cattle ranches across the United States whose innovation, leadership, and contributions have helped advance the beef industry.

"Ranches of the West" celebrates the history and traditions of the American West while recognizing the individuals and ranches shaping the future of the beef industry.

In conjunction with Cattlemen’s Week, 10 ranches will be honored as the inaugural class of "Ranches of the West" during the 2027 Stock Show. The induction ceremony and reception will take place at 4:00 p.m. on January 14 at The Legacy, followed by a PRCA rodeo performance.

That's a wrap! Thanks to all of you for your patience while we get these ladies to the high country! We were so lucky, the rain last night cooled things down for this morning's drive, and the cows were ready to move (one of the horses was feeling pretty froggy this morning too...if anyone has pictures of the blow up, I'd sure love to see them lol). Thanks again.
