Our kids headed back to school today 🍎 ✏️ 📚 and a new “kid” joined the herd today! Meet lucky 🍀 Her mama is Maisy our sweetest Hereford and sired by good ole Harrison the highland!

Today wasn’t one of the good days as a rancher. Most days this life is a dream. Hard work, no question—but a dream we dreamt as a family and are so blessed to now be living. Today we lost a calf. Our hearts our heavy, we’re second guessing, replaying it over again. All while knowing we did everything we could. Knowing we had to intervene or we could have lost both the calf and the sweet mama, Rosie. We mourn the life lost of the sweet bull calf but now have to turn our focus to Rosie who sustained an injury during labor. She’s not out of the woods, but we’re following our veterinarians instructions and praying she will soon be on the other side of this and fully recovered. Thankful for this life but definitely ending the day with a heavy heart.

The love of a mother is something so special. A love so deep, so pure, so selfless. Today we celebrate all the moms be they human friends or barnyard friends. We hope you know how loved and cherished you are!

Well would ya take a look at this handsome little fella who joined us today! Talk about a May Day blessing! His mama is our adorable Highpark named Sprinkles and he’s sired by Mr. handsome highland himself, Harrison. Welcome to the herd little one!
