Pick Your Own Certified Organic Apple season starts this weekend!

We’ll be open 12-4 every Saturday and Sunday through mid-October.

This weekend we have some fabulous varieties for you. You can choose Zestars or SweeTangos or both!

Bring the family, bring a picnic, and enjoy the beautiful weather together!

Our orchard Fruit Acres is less than 10 minutes from downtown La Crosse on the beautiful bluffs over La Crescent. Follow the Ypu-Pick signs. 🍎🍎🍎

Opus Bakehouse in La Crosse (Sunday 10AM - 2PM)
Deep Roots Community Farm in La Crosse (Monday 12PM - 5PM)

You can select your pick up location when you order your CSA share.

Cost: $125 for three 1/3 bushels

What's in the box: Expect a delicious mix of modern (SweeTango, Zestar) and old-fashioned (Cortlands, Firesides, Jonamacs, NW Greening) varieties. In each 1/3 bushel box the selection will vary depending on what is ready for harvest – perfect for fresh eating and baking alike.

It’s never too hot at the creek! This land is rich in fossils and artifacts and after learning about Wisconsin’s past as a prehistoric sea and then looking at more recent 10,000 year-old woolly mammoth bones, we headed to the creek to see what else we could find. Thanks to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse School District of La Crosse and GROW La Crosse for making this BGC farm day happen!

Little bit of Lake Superior love before a busy couple of weeks of farm camp and new horses. Our newest permitted driver got lots of time behind the wheel on the backroads, the pastys were abundant, and the big water and birdsong are always good for the nervous system.

📣 Last Call for Farm Camp 📣

July is full of farm visits from students from all over the region.
Don’t miss the opportunity to have your child be one of them! Registration is open through Sunday, July 12th for the July 14th – 16th farm camp.

This month we host Farm Camp with many collaborations. Through partnership with the School District of La Crosse , and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse groups are starting each week in July with visits to the farm. Students are engaged and enthusiastic about the chance to tend to animals and explore the creek while at the farm. A “Learn to Live Local” camp partnership supported by the Community Foundation , 's Food Coop and Roots Community Farm allows participants to spend a day of their camp learning about sustainability through the lens of local food systems at the farm.

For youth, by youth! Yesterday’s farm camp was fantastic. A long-time farm camp attendee designed and led a Learn to Love Local Day.

It’s always a highlight when the bottle lambs show up at camp, but we also harvested and ate fresh food from the garden, tended the animals, and explored sustainability through the lens of local food production. I have so much trust in the next generation to make our world a better place!

Happy July! The garden is giving us full harvest baskets each day, our 4th of July birthday boy turns 17, the pup is growing like a w**d, we’ve been working on a new collaboration and are so excited to share those details soon, and there are a couple spots left in our July farm camp (register at: GROWLaCrosse.org/farm-camps/)
