Clint Smith, President and Director of Thunder Ranch®, is a Marine Corps veteran of two infantry and Combined Action Platoon tours in Vietnam. His experience includes seven years as a police officer during which he served as head of the Firearms Training Division as well as being a S.W.A.T. He left law enforcement to serve as Operations Officer for the American Pistol Institute where he was Dean o

f instruction and was instrumental in range and curriculum development for A.P.I. In 1983, Clint founded International Training Consultants, Inc., an active mobile training program which is nationally recognized for innovative programs in Urban Rifle, Shotgun, Precision Rifle, and various handgun formats. In 1986, he served as Director of Training for Heckler & Koch, Inc., where he developed and taught progressive courses in fully automatic weapons as well as conventional weapons systems. opened to show not only innovative training, but numerous range designs and functions of a type not seen before in one facility. Clint is a contributor to American Handgunner, American Cop, GUNS and SWAT magazines and has published articles in many other national and international publications.

Want to REALLY get to know your 1911? We’ve got you covered. This specialized 2-day class with Heirloom Precision is *The* way to gain in-depth knowledge of the 1911 pistol- its operation and how to properly fit essential reliability components.

With a focus on hands on components in the classroom, Jason Burton takes you deep into the operating cycle of the 1911, including:
• complete disassembly
• understanding the firing cycle, and
• detailed discussions of each part’s proper fit and function.

You will learn to:
• identify common parts breakages
• diagnose malfunctions
• tune the extractor
• select proper spring weights for various calibers and sizes.

Additional topics include safety checks, firing pin safeties, functional differences between models, and proper maintenance and lubrication.

We could go on and on….and that’s just day ONE!

The second day builds on the previous material as you will learn to replace and modify key reliability components such as the extractor and firing pin stop.

Using your own guns, you will install these parts and conduct live fire tests to ensure proper function.

Additionally and as available, the second day concludes with Thunder Ranch’s lecture on handgun use, focusing on 1911-specific considerations.

Far too often medical skills training is completely overlooked - a blind spot you can’t afford to have. AND- not all medical training is equal! That’s why TAC MED - Pistol at Thunder Ranch should be at the TOP of your list!

With a focus on security and providing immediate medical aid in the event of an emergency, this course will challenge even the most experienced professionals as well as equip new students.

The course will provide training in, and if successfully completed, a certificate in Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), as well as many additional considerations on Team Tactics, Emergency Response, Mass Casualty Events, etc.

This class covers multiple spectrums of the emergency event, from the initial notification and response, scene security, triage, treatment and management using MARCH, IFAK selection and use, as well as patient transport.

Will you get to shoot? ALSO YES! While the main focus is the medical part, this course also integrates pistol shooting into the three days.

Attendees will be provided with all medical training equipment and be leave with your own Thunder Ranch IFAK from North American Rescue , as well as an additional Ratcheting Medical Tourniquet from M2 inc.
