Pass Me Over Farm We are a small farm specializing in direct to consumer sales of local lamb. We offer whole and individual cuts.

We also offer eggs, honey and small amount of produce when available. KY and Appalachia proud, SRQA certified, KSWPA, ISA and SEKSPA members.

Let’s talk about culling. A topic many people don’t really want to talk about or deal with. It is VERY important though.

What do we cull for? Everything. 😂. No really though. This season we culled hard. Harder than we probably have in the past 2 years.

Culled for deworming. If we had to deworm, they went out.

Culled for singles. If they weren’t a yearling and produced only one lamb, they gone.

Culled for foot problems. If they weren’t constantly limping for anything other than trimmings, they’re on the trailer.

Actually found one through records that hasn’t produced a lamb at all. She gone.

And we did have one we culled just because we didn’t like what she looked like. Just wasn’t the genetics and body we wanted to reproduce. Not every sheep should be bred.

That’s why records are so important. In the thick of everyday production, you don’t notice if one is not producing, always being treated for parasites, foot problems. But when ya sit down each fall, when you’re starting to think about winter feeding and hay cost, check the records and you find that there’s a bunch that gotta go. They are sucking you financially and physically, gotta make some changes. Gotta get em out.

The big girls before the weather finally broke and got some autumn temperatures. The 90’s in September were making them pant like dogs.

Came through Harrodsburg on the way home from an apiary demonstration. Was craving some ice cream and remembered The Local. Finally stopped in and got a soft serve in a waffle cone. It was delicious.
