Conley Farm My name is Amy Conley and this is my journey as a mom, soap maker, and farmer! My Journey into Hobby Farming has flourished into a real live farm experience.

After several years of learning and making lots of mistakes, we have become Conley Farm. We raise goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks and geese. Each animal has a purpose to make the Farm grow. I make goat milk soap and lotion using our goat's milk that I milk by hand daily. I use the wool from our sheep to make wool dryer balls. We have free range, cage free chickens that lay delicious brown eggs

. Our pasture raised meats include pork, chicken and lamb. I love this lifestyle and am so glad I can share it with my husband and three boys. I may have started out as an accidental farmer but now I am proud to call myself a farmer.

It's market day at the Chestnut Street Farmers Market in Rome. It's going to be a beautiful day. Our market has so much to offer, you need to check it out. I will have lots of farm fresh eggs, wild blueberry jam, apple jelly, goat milk soap, lotion, shampoo bars, and wool products. I raise goats, sheep and chickens and make everything myself. I also am restocked with honey from Tim Hoda.

Another day of applesauce and I am about done because I am getting tired of cutting up apples. I have 28 quarts and about 8 pints done. There are still apples on that tree. The goats, sheep and chickens love apples and get all the extras.

When I make applesauce for our family, nothing gets wasted. All the cores get cooked down to make apple juice which I use in the applesauce but also use to make a sweet delicious apple jelly with a hint of cinnamon. The chickens get any remaining peels and cores. We have two early apple trees. One of them is an heirloom tree called Dutchess of Oldenburg. This old tree was loaded with apples this year.
I will have apple jelly today at the Chestnut Street Farmers' Market from 2 to 6.
