The Call babies got a bigger pool today and I think it’s safe to say they love it!! These little birds are so full of personality! We love them!

We have 3 *whole hog* shares (or we can do halves) available for beginning/mid July processing!

We will not have anything else available until around December-ish and then it will only be 3 hogs so if you need to stock up or are running low please get with us now to get yours reserved! We appreciate each and every one of you all so much! 🐖

We have chicks hatching right now that will be available in 2 days for pick up! $6 each, should have about 15. There are barnyard mix, Easter Eggers and Ameraucanas (true ameraucanas, not Easter Eggers). All are going as mixes as I don’t have a way to separate and know what is what 😆

Thank you to all who have followed and supported us! We reached 1k followers tonight!
With that we wanted to share about our family and farm.

Buttermilk Acres
We started raising hogs when we decided we wanted to know where our pork comes from 4 years ago.
At the time we couldn’t find any place to buy pork shares like we do beef so we made the decision to start raising our own!
It has had its ups and downs.
There are times we can’t keep up with demand and there are times we can’t sell what we have!
We are definitely small scale hog farmers.
We have learned a ton and have so much to learn!

To tell a little more about our operation.
We have narrowed our farm down to just Duroc hogs. We try to lean heavy on an old line breeding program.
We keep our hogs in wooded areas and rotate them between 1/2 acre lots giving us time to plant and try to kill off any bugs in their pens.

Most of our stock is out of Hendricks Durocs,
Wade Hendricks has put a lot of time and passion into breeding an amazing hog! We are introducing a bloodline from Derek Bartholomew this year that we are real excited about!
