This morning the Procter program team hit the road and visited the Church of St. Edward in Whitehall!
Deacon Libbie led Morning Prayer, Jerusalem shared a sermon, and Nathan, Wylie and camper Colin led the music! After the service the team got to enjoy a “coffee hour” luncheon and a tour of Ed’s Garden, which has provided over 1000 lbs of fresh produce to local food pantries this year!

What a joy it was to get to know this congregation better, learn from them and hear some of their hopes and dreams for the present and the future.

The Commonage, Procter’s Episcopal Service Corps community, shares an intentional communal meal once a week. This past week, Commonage member, Nina D., embodied hospitality and belonging for her program mates by preparing and serving a meal from her home in Zimbabwe. The meal included rice, isitshwa - also known as Sadza -with peanut butter kale and beans stew made with chakalakaz! The meal was a hit with everyone, and Mr. Nathan is hoping for a repeat offering soon!

Each person on our team is integral to what makes Procter special, but for many, Robin Kimbler is the first point of contact, the one who sets the tone for their entire Procter experience! Thank you, Robin for all that you do!

There is something about returning to a center and being greeted by a warm, familiar face. That feeling of coming home made manifest by a person ready to welcome you 💚

At Procter, one of those people is Robin Kimbler-
"Robin does an amazing job of making every person who walks through Procter's doors for a retreat or meeting feel seen and loved! She is the keeper of all the logistics and works hard to embody and teach hospitality and belonging to all!" 💐

Procter was honored to have our neighbors from Trinity Episcopal from London, host a Sunday Cook-Out Eucharist in the Bishop Price Pavilion this morning! The outdoor service was a wonderful way to wrap up their Season of Creation experience, and the potluck lunch they shared with some of our team included farm raised burgers and brats from Blue Star farm.
As always we love having our Diocese of Southern Ohio parishes on camp and hearing stories of Procter from across the generations!

Join us for our Fall Youth Retreat, Better Together, a retreat for youth looking to form deeper connections with each other, God, nature, and themselves!

Young people in grades 5-12 are invited to spend a weekend at Procter, enjoying classic camp activities and building friendships across the diocese.
