Yummy eats at Manistee Tire today til 1pm 🕐 😋

SUNDAY AUGUST 30TH!! We'll be at the Manistee Tire parking lot, 8 am - 1 pm serving our regular breakfast menu... burritos, bowls, avocado toast, cinnamon rolls, yogurt parfait... AND our FEATURED ITEM... BRISKET BURRITO!! 🎉🌯 Oh ya...and freshly picked corn from Grossnickle Farms for the Mexican street corn!

Just another Friday in Manistee. ⚓️🌊☀️

There’s something about hearing that rumble and watching one of these giants make its way through the channel that never gets old.

Today, the SS Calumet made her way in from Lake Michigan, through downtown Manistee and toward Manistee Lake — one of those little reminders that while we may be a small Northern Michigan town, we’re still a working Great Lakes port. 🚢

And on one of these last glorious Fridays of summer? You stop what you’re doing and watch the big ship go by. 💙

The tourists are squeezing in their final beach days, the orchard is getting heavier with apples, the evenings are coming a little earlier… and you can feel that tiny shift in the air. 🍎🌾

Not quite fall.
Not ready to let go of summer.

There’s a little extra magic hanging over the orchard tonight. 🌳✨ August’s Full Sturgeon Moon is lighting up the sky — with a lunar eclipse joining the show. 🌕🌑

The Sturgeon Moon gets its name from the time of year when these incredible, ancient fish were historically abundant in the Great Lakes. And here in Manistee, where Lake Michigan and the Manistee River are such a huge part of who we are, that name feels especially close to home. 🐟🌊

There’s something about a full moon over the orchard that always feels like a reminder…

Slow down.
Be present.
Look up.
Breathe deep.
Be in awe. ✨

Because sometimes nature puts on the best show of all. 🌕🌳

Psst… 🌕 look up tonight friends! There’s a little extra magic happening over the orchard tonight…

Tonight’s Full Sturgeon Moon is bringing along a VERY special guest: a deep partial lunar eclipse. 🌑🌕✨

The August full moon has traditionally been called the Sturgeon Moon, a name connected to the time of year when lake sturgeon were abundant in the Great Lakes — which feels especially fitting here in Michigan. And tonight, Earth gets directly involved in the show.

As the Moon moves through Earth’s shadow, about 96% of its surface will be covered at maximum eclipse — so while technically considered a partial lunar eclipse, this baby is going to be VERY close to total. 🤯

🌕 Michigan viewing cheat sheet:
✨ Eclipse begins around 9:23 PM
🌑 Partial eclipse begins around 10:33 PM
🔥 Maximum eclipse around 12:12 AM
🌕 Partial eclipse ends around 1:51 AM

And NO special glasses required — lunar eclipses are perfectly safe to watch with your own two eyeballs. 👀

There’s something about watching the moon rise over rows of fruit trees that puts things into perspective.
