We’ll be picking up our passport this weekend and collecting our first stamp at Old Bridge Brewing Company with a glass of Bud & Bird Cider in hand! 🍎🍻

Next stop: West End Ciderhouse 🍺

Not a bad way to celebrate a little history, support local businesses, and kick off our journey on the Ohio Hard Cider Trail 🇺🇸 🍺 🍎

🍎 Raise a glass to Ohio cider season. 🍎

Old Bridge Brewing Company is proud to be an official stop on the Ohio Hard Cider Trail, celebrating the farms, flavors, and craftsmanship that make Ohio cider something special.

While you’re collecting stamps on your passport, stop in and try Bud & Bird Cider, made with apples from Hidden Hills Orchard in Marietta, Ohio. Crisp, refreshing, and rooted right here in Southeast Ohio. 🍻

Passports are available right here in the taproom, so grab one, take the scenic route through Morgan County, and make Old Bridge part of the journey.

Cheers to Ohio, local flavor, and a trail worth following. 🌾🍎

Happy Earth Day! 🌎🌳

We’re spending today doing one of my favorite orchard chores — planting new trees! Trees are vital to Mother Earth for so many reasons, but these are especially meaningful to us because they allow our family to work together, feed our community, and carry the orchard into the future. 🍎

These are the first Putnam Russet trees to be planted at the orchard, connecting us to the rich history of apple growing in this region that dates all the way back to 1796.

And this is where our orchard and Bud & Bird Cider come together. 🍏 From orchard to glass, the trees we plant today will one day become the apples that make Bud & Bird Cider possible. 🍻 Here’s to putting down roots and growing for the future! 🌎

Looking back at the last three years of sprinkler posts I couldn’t help note the dates… we had cold nights on April 7, 2024, April 9, 2025, and now April 8, 2026… guess we should just go ahead and block these days off on the calendar for 2027 😂

Our under-tree microsprinklers did exactly what we needed them to do last night — they ran all night, didn’t freeze up, and helped raise the temperature in the orchard by about 3°F. It may not sound like much, but those few degrees can make a big difference in an apple bloom’s chance of surviving! 🌸🍎

Apple trees really want to grow apples, so they hedge their bets by setting way more blooms than we actually need. That’s why we always say we can usually survive one freeze event — just not multiple… and we’re sitting at two so far this year, so here’s hoping April doesn’t sneak another one in! 🤞

Okay little guys, the valves have been turned — now it’s time to do your job… keep those apple blooms warm! 🍎

Wildroot Flower Co. captured it pretty spot-on with their post tonight — we’ve been refreshing about three different weather models trying to make the best guess of what we’re going to see overnight.

Our sprinklers protect down to 24°F, so fingers are crossed we don’t see temps drop that low (and that maybe one of those models is wrong 🤞🥶).

Sending warm thoughts across the MOV tonight — and maybe a little extra caffeine in the morning for all the farmers keeping watch over sprinkler heads through the night ☕ We see you Stacy Family Farm!

Climb a ladder ✅
Hang by one hand to grab that just-out-of-reach apple ✅
She’s hired 😉

We’ll be at the River City Farmers Market tomorrow (Saturday Feb 28th) — probably our last one before next season’s apples are ready! 🙌 We’re clearing out the cooler (and our stash), so we’ll have a mix of varieties available plus Enterprise.

See you tomorrow! 👋

Farmer Baby I think spoke for a lot of us on the way home when she said how happy she was just to see the grass again 😂

Open on farm today until 2pm!

We’ve got Enterprise apples that will store beautifully until spring, make the perfect applesauce, and I can personally vouch for how amazing they are in an apple crisp too 🍎

I had quite the little helper while pruning…she was desperate for some loving, and apparently only that Shizuka branch could give it to her 😂 She’s lucky that branch got to stay!

We are so excited to finally set up at the River City Farmers Market for the first time in 2026 — we’ll see you tomorrow with Cameo and Enterprise apples plus our apple butter AND a brand new product! 🍎

We will also be open on farm on Sunday from 12-2pm — come out and see us!

Monday orchard views looked a whole lot different than today — the great thaw is officially happening 😅 It’s a sloppy mess out there, but with the chore list growing by the day, we’ll take mud over ice any time!

And the warmer weather means we’re headed back to the River City Farmers Market this Saturday — plus we’ll have a new product for sale 👀🍎 Come down and check it out!

And if that’s not convenient for you, we’ll also be open on farm on Sunday from 12-2pm!

Y’all, this weather has been something else! 🥶 Have you ever tried selling apples in negative wind chills? Yeah… us neither 😂

The cold has definitely slowed things down, but don’t worry — we’ve got apples safely tucked away for you! We’re just waiting on a warm-up (soon please 🙏) and for our driveway to lose its ice rink status ❄️😂

They’ll be ready when the weather is ready — and so are we 🍎❤️

In the mean time send us a note if you would like apples and we’re happy to coordinate a meet up!
