Hopping into Thursday with a fun fact! 🦘💛

Did you know kangaroos and wallabies belong to a group called macropods, which means “big feet”? Those impressive back feet help power their hops, while their long tails help them balance!

Around here, those big feet come with some pretty big personalities, too! 😂💕

😂 What you’re seeing isn’t an ad for Polaris Off Road or Milwaukee Tool…it’s just Patrick getting our winter browse prep underway! 🌿

Welcome to Part 1 of our Browse Series! We’re taking you behind the scenes to show how we prepare browse for our animals to enjoy throughout Ohio’s winter. First up: cutting branches into manageable pieces and creating bundles!

🌳 What’s browse? The leaves, twigs and branches that many of our animals love to munch on! It also encourages natural foraging behaviors and keeps those curious mouths busy.

A special thank-you to our wonderful neighbors, who graciously let us collect their tree after they cut it down. We’re so grateful to put those branches to good use feeding our animals this winter! 💚

And those bundles? They’ve got another stop before they’re ready for our animals…👀❄️ Stay tuned for part 2 to see what happens next!
