Did you know that bald-faced hornets don't reuse their nests? This one looks empty, but I'm going to wait a few more weeks before I take it down and put it in the barn as a decoration.

Another interesting tidbit, the height of a hornets nest has been used to predict the severity of the upcoming winter. This one is less than four feet off the ground, which indicates less snowfall than one built among the treetops. We will see if these hornets are accurate forecasters soon enough!

It was a beautiful day for a horse show! Natalie and Ranger did great: 🐎🛢🎃

4th in showmanship
3rd in western horsemanship
1st in western pleasure
2nd in the ranch pattern
4th in barrels
5th in flags
2nd in down and back
2nd in poles

We were in separate divisions, so I rode Ranger in barrels too using Nat's saddle. I lost both stirrups, but had a clean pattern and didn't fall off... so that's a win! 😆

We decided to buy a band saw this year, just in time for deer season.

Kiel was reading me the manual and we were cracking up at some of the statements, and I quote:

🪚This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above.
🪚There is no abnormal phenomenon after the power is switched on.
🪚The hands are strictly forbidden from touching the saw blade while the machine operates.

Are we just easily amused? 😆

Tell me, what do YOU do with your manuals?

A. Read them and keep them handy.
B. Throw them in a junk drawer, never to be seen again.
C. What manual? It's already in the trash.

The babies are growing into big, beautiful girls! I moved them into a new pen yesterday, but let them have some free time in the yard for a while first.

The farm page reached 2,000 Facebook followers this week, (🥳) so I figured I would reintroduce myself... and model my latest felting project at the same time.
