We have lots of bigger farmer friends too. My husband and I are just small here. But these boys sure love when the neighbor farmer comes to do their fields. Like Iā€™ve said before, itā€™s been insanely wet here so fields have been way less than ideal.

2026 Hay season has begun here in western PA. Hubs knocked down about 15 acres between last night and tonight. This field pictured is a year 3 (second season cutting) off of this current field.

Egg collection from today! I have a video of the possum that I grabbed but I was swearing and sometimes thatā€™s a no-no here and they flag it. šŸ˜… so no video of that. I walked into the coop to shut the door after I got the ducks ushered in and lo and behold, a possum snacking on six eggs.

But hopefully the girls are back up and running again after that.

Okay all. I have the chance to earn a big bonus from reels here. And the amount that it is, is TWO WEEKS worth of chicken feed. So Iā€™m trying to get it!

But anyway. Look for lots of videos and please stay at least 15 seconds of them because they have to be 30 seconds long.

This was a draft I had saved on TikTok until TikTok said you need to post or delete some stuff because youā€™re running out of room. Go figure.

Anyway. If you read this far, what do you all wanna see?! I think I have four days left to post 10 videos.

Step 3 was seeding the new hay seed into the field! I did not get to capture him taking the cultipacker down to go over the field after seed was done, but that was the final step to this field. And now we wait for grass to grow. Literally!

I have always been an avid bird lover. It doesn't matter if it's the barn swallows flying through the garage, or just little birds sitting on the tractor. I love them. My chickens are just cheerful. The ducks are comical. I enjoy every bit of it.

This is actually a video from two years ago. The weather this year has everybody so late with planting. We friends with, and know lots of the farmers in our area and my husband just talked with some of the dairy farmers last weekend. Itā€™s been rough going.

Three kinds of hay seed purchased. We weighed out 18 lbs per acre of seed between the three of them.

Brb, while I spend the next 3-5 business days catching up on laundry my kids accumulated Saturday and Sunday between the rain showers. Yes I laughed at the toddler. Yes I know heā€™s in a diaper. I was tired of changing clothes. He was gonna get them wet anyway. Farm kids are just built different.
