Croskey Homestead We're the Croskey Homestead, located in Fredonia/Mercer, Pennsylvania. We make beef tallow moisturizer out of our own homegrown and raised beef suet.

We raise farm-fresh chicken, duck, and coturnix quail eggs and other farm fresh produce and products.

Isn't this such a wonderful blessing? I love eating our farm-fresh eggs and the cats LOVE to eat the quail eggs. The duck eggs are perfect for baking!

On Friday, I had a busy day planned!

In the morning, I picked up some beautiful dryer wool balls from Barnyard Baskets in Mercer. I've never used them before, but since I picked them up, I've used them a handful of times and I will say that I've NEVER had anything that works as well as these! I will never use dryer sheets ever again. These wool balls come from sheep's wool that is grown, sheared, and then from made start-to-finish on their farm. Supporting them means supporting local farms! I will always highly recommend these!!!

On my way home, I stopped by the Mercer Mercantile & Ice Cream for a delicious lunch of their reuben panini and their dirty soda special Shirley Temple! It's one of my favorite places to stop, and I love to sit in their shop and watch the cars go by and see the hustle and bustle of Mercer. This day, I brought my Ball Canning book and my notebook with me to write down which recipes I wanted to can this year, as well as a list of what I need to can. My tomatoes did not do well at all this year, so I'm looking for a local farmer-owned fresh produce stand to purchase my tomatoes and some other fruits and vegetables. Plans changed and I wasn't able to find any stands on Friday. Does anyone have any recommendations?
