Amy Hanssen’s Training Center in WNY proudly offers a wide variety of services including horse riding lessons and training, horse leasing & boarding accommodations, summer horse camp, horse sales and horse shows. Amy has over 35 years of horse riding experience and has owned and operated the family farm for the last 21. Amy is an AQHA Professional Horseman and competitor. She has served as a Director on the board for the Western New York Quarter Horse Association for over 10 years. Other club memberships include Empire State Quarter Horse Association (ESQHA) and the National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA). Virginia Beaton, Assistant Trainer
Virginia has been involved with Amy and the horses for over 20 years now making these two a fantastic duo! She helps with the training of the horses and also the riding lessons, both beginner and advanced. She competes at the AQHA shows in the professional classes, earning many awards and accomplishments. Virginia has been a director for the WNYQHCI for the past several years. She too is a member of ESQHA and NSBA. Both Amy and Virginia take pride in the training center, their training program for both horse and rider and the atmosphere that has been created at the farm. They are extremely proud of their accomplishments as well as the accomplishments of their customers and students. They work extra hard, pay attention to detail and are exceptionally professional and honest.

As we sit in the 100th traffic jam of the day…. Figured it’s a good time to reflect on our trip to OKC. (Don’t worry I’m the passenger right now) We took 5 riders that attended their first world show. Each one made us so proud of their own accomplishments, how they handled the “pressure”, their sportsmanship, and the encouragement and support they gave each other. We couldn’t be more proud. There were ribbons and trophies, but the smiles and team spirt was the best win of them all. Thank you to our riders and their families for a trip that was worth the miles! (And even the traffic jams 🤣🤣)

AQHA Showing holds various contests at the AQHYA World Show. One of them being a “Wrangler Jeans & Justin Boots contest” Each State designs a pair of jeans in a way that reflect the yearly AQHYA theme and their state. A bunch of the girls from the Empire State Quarter Horse Association got together to design them and paint them. If you have a minute listen to what Addison Higley & Julianna Stanley had to say about AQHA & New York State. Even if they don’t end up the contest winners. I think the girls represented NYS and AQHA perfectly! Thank you Tina Carter-Stanley for everything you’ve done for this year’s New York team!

Just some highlights from the AQHYA world show so far. The temps here in OKC are high, the hours of sleep are low, but the fun we are having is immeasurable!

Different riders, different horses, different stories… One team with the same dream 🖤❤️ In less than a week we start our travels to the AQHYA World Championship show. Although the travel is just about to begin- the journey to this show began long ago! Wishing these girls the best of luck in OKC !
