Our 2026 Pilgrim pair is L👀king for new pastures... and treats! 🌿🍎

Our Pilgrims are pasture-raised on 100% organic feed. They’re a sweet, docile, auto-sexing breed and wonderful birds to work with.

📥 We care deeply about preserving Pilgrim geese for future generations and love connecting with others who share that interest. ✨🪿

We decided to say goodbye...
Or at least take a break from quail.

Don't get me wrong, we have really enjoyed raising quail and they are a great bird, especially for those with limited space who want self sufficiency. But, it's okay to pivot and decide to focus on other projects. In an effort to keep things simple and balanced with our limited time and energy, we have made a decision to part with our flock. 🪶 (They have been rehomed.)

My phone is FULL of photos, like this one! 📸

We’ve been busy studying the SOP (Standard of Perfection) for Black Copper Marans and analyzing body type, tail sets, feathered feet, color patterns, combs, and more. Plus, we’re trying to figure out who is laying which egg! 🥚✨

There’s a lot to sort through, but our hope is to do our very best to represent this sweet breed of chocolate egg layers. 🤎 We’ll be making strategic pairings to continue improving our line.

We have lots of fun updates coming, but for now, we’re busy preparing for winter and making our plans for 2027! ❄️🐓

p.s. this pullet is still young and has plenty of growing left to do, but I’m already loving her beautiful copper hackles and clean black chest. We’ve also been really happy with the big, brick-like body types we’re seeing!

Well... kinda. I asked my friend at Weissenflock Farm to hatch it! 🐣 I'm excited to see what comes from our collaboration, as we work on improving our Black Copper Marans together. Lots of fun updates to come!

I'm so glad I didn't give up, had hope & planted those late season seeds. ✨ The bees have been lazing atop the cosmos beneath the autumn sun. The bees move slower this time of year as the temperature grows cooler, almost as if they are moving in slow-mo. I can't resist pausing to just enjoy them! 🐝🌿

Cock-a-doodle-doo & Happy Monday to you! 🐓 Unlike this guy, we've been pretty quiet lately... we've been obsessing over the Black Copper Marans breed SOP (Standard of Perfection) and grading potential candidates to head up our 2027 programs. This birthday buddy, hatched on April 13th of this year, is one we are considering. We have LOADS of exciting updates coming! ✨
