Just a few weeks until breeding season and our little kidding plans are complete (finally). I don't know how those with larger herds manage to decide breeding plans, as it took me way too long to decide these four. 🤣 We are incredibly excited (and grateful!) about these pairings! I will be posting more specifics about each one as they happen or whenever I finally get around to taking decent pictures of everyone.

PM if you are interested on getting on reservations! Most kids will be co-raising (aside from the occasional bottle baby straggler). This post will be updated as needed. Planned pedigrees are in the comments. 👇

Our little herd is again negative for CAE, Johnes, and Q-Fever. Although I know they will be negative, it is always so nerve wracking waiting for results. 😅

(We only test new animals with the Johnes PCR, which is why not everyone is tested that way. Everyone is tested via ELISA yearly though).

Violet Ridge RF Lovebug “Bug”
At 1 month old vs almost 4 months old.

The first doeling my heart doe, Lovey, had given me and she’s everything I hoped for! Well, except maybe the sass. Now why couldn’t she have behaved this well while showing. 🤦‍♀️🤪

We had a great time at the Smoky Mountain Summer Classic and while I’m very happy with how the four does we showed did, I wanted to make a shout out to this little girlie!

Violet Ridge RF Goldielocks

…placed 1st in Ring 1 under judge Karen Smith and was an honorable mention in the Grand lineup at only 9 weeks old! To see one of our home-bred girls be so highly spoken of in the grand lineup feels so special! Unfortunately she decided walking on four legs was overrated in the next two rings, but still placed decently. Needless to say, she’s staying right here.

Another doe I feel so blessed to be able to bring to the herd! She has so many incredible goats from Amores Farm in her pedigree and is such beautiful, wide doe herself. Plus she's an absolute sweetheart to boot! I say this a lot, but I seriously can't wait to see what she does here!

I am SO excited about this girl! I've admired her (and her gorgeous dam) for a while, originally planning on getting one of her doelings, but when Samara Groves offered her to me, I couldn't say yes fast enough! 🤣She is currently drying off, but her FF udder is very promising and such a dream to milk. We were so sad to hear that Totality passed this week and hope Ali can carry on her legacy here!

Photo dump from the Southern Belle Showdown today! Such a fun show and so many gorgeous does! I only ended up showing three of our girlies and no ribbons today, but I am very happy with how everyone looked! Thanks again to Tumble Creek Ranch and Sarah Sampson for helping me take pictures and wrangle my crazies lol. Details under pictures.

Olliemae Farm WM GoldNGinger (LA87 FF score) kidded on Sunday with twin doelings! These girls are absolutely gorgeous and everything I hoped for in this pairing! Their sire is Ilenesrascals Ring of Fire *B. One will be available, although admittedly, it may take me a which to decide which 😅
