Wednesday June 3rd sales

930 am SOLD OUT!!!!

We will have a small amount starting at 730 at our main stand located at the intersection of highways 80&837 until we sellout
The season is winding down and we don’t know how much longer it will be feasible for us to pick
As long as we can justify picking we will
I get comments and suggestions on these posts about coming to other locations to sell , we don’t have enough berries to stay open all day at the main stand which is the closest to the farm
I know that it is inconvenient for some of you to get out there but we have people who want the berries bad enough that they make it there from Campbellsville, Columbia, Jamestown and even Louisville before we sell out
We did the best we could this year to get the berries as close to people that wanted them as we could
Hopefully next year we will have enough to be at more locations more often

Thanks again for your patience, patronage and especially your prayers

Monday June 1st

11:15 am update, we’re sold out for today.

We will have a limited amount of berries for sale at our main stand located at the intersection of highways 80&837 from 730 until we sellout
Please bring cash or check to pay for the berries because we experienced trouble on Saturday with our internet service and wasn’t able to process all the cards
Hopefully it’s working now but we can’t promise
Prices are $20 a gallon and $6 a quart

The berries are getting thinner in the field and we don’t know how much longer they will last so I would recommend you getting them in the next few days

Thanks again for your patronage and patience and especially your prayers

915 am update
We’re sold out of berries for today
I’ll update the schedule Sunday evening about next weeks schedule

We’re going to have berries for sale tomorrow (Saturday May 16) at our main stand
For you that are new to this page and haven’t been to that stand it is located at the intersection of highways 80 and 837 which is in western part of Pulaski County
From the Cumberland Parkway take the Nancy exit and go west towards Casey County and we’re approximately 4 miles on the right just past Dollar General
We will be opening around 7 am( eastern time) until we sellout
I have no idea when they will all be sold but if it’s like the other days this week it will be probably early
Prices are $20 a gallon and $6 a quart
Cash , check and credit and debit cards are accepted

This is the only stand open tomorrow and it will be the only stand open for the rest of the season

Next week we’re planning to be open 2-3 days there but I haven’t decided which days yet
We will probably skip days to allow more berries to ripen so we can be open longer those days

I want to thank everyone for your purchases and kind words about our berries this year
We have been blessed from the Good Lord with a bountiful and very good tasting crop this year and you folks have stepped up and bought them
This has been a year that I haven’t had to find a charity at the end of the day to get rid of the berries that are left over from the day
I don’t mind donating them when I have them but it just hadn’t happened this year

I also want to thank the customers in Lexington, Danville, Glasgow and especially Somerset for your purchase of the berries, you have made it worthwhile to bring them to you
We’re planning on doing that again next year and we are planning on growing more next year than we have this year

Thanks again for your patience, patronage and prayers

Empty wagon means that we don’t have any berries to pick
As you can see in the pictures we do have some smaller berries and blooms on the plants
We will do our best to see if we can get them to mature enough to pick and sell
With all that being said, I honestly don’t know when or if we will be able to open again for sales
It’s been a very frustrating year but we’re thankful that we had some, a lot of farmers have had a tougher year than us
Thanks for your patience and support and we will let you know something as soon as possible

A helpful hint to maybe help you keep your berries longer. If you’re wanting to keep our berries for several days to eat on , our family has found that the best way is too cap them , then cut them into the size you want to consume them, wash them, let them dry off completely them place them into the refrigerator.
Also if you’re wanting several to make jam or jelly and you don’t have time to process them all, it doesn’t hurt the flavor to go ahead and cap them and wash them and let them dry then place them in a freezer bag and freeze them until you are ready to use them. We’ve kept berries for over year in the past like this.
We want everyone to get to enjoy every berry that you buy from us but remember that our berries are picked at the time of peak flavor and therefore will not keep very long without some help.
Also, we’re doing our best to only sale the freshest fruit possible. The stands outside of our main one at 80&837 are being stocked with berries that are picked late in the afternoon the night before. Our main stand will have a few in the morning from that picking and will be restocked during the day with fresh picked berries. What is left over at the end of the day are either donated to a needy group or disposed of.
If any of you folks know of a food bank, halfway house or any other group that needs food I’m willing to pay for your gas if you will come to the farm after we close and guarantee me that you will deliver them to that group.
Thanks for your patronage
