Broken Z Ranch Quarter Horses

Broken Z Ranch Quarter Horses Training Horses for over 30 years and breeding Quarter Horses for over 25 years. We strive to provide quality all around foundation quarter horses.

We have been training horses for over 25 years and breeding horses for over 20 years. We breed exceptional conformation and disposition, along with color in the Quarter Horse industry. We help ensure our foals disposition by providing imprint training from day 1. We like our foals to be friendly and easy to handle. By working with our foals from day 1, their 2 year old year of starting them under saddle is much easier then starting from scratch. In training, we like to start with a basic foundation. In typical 30 days depending on the horse, a c**t will be able to walk, trot, lope, stop, back, side pass, pivot forehand and hindquarter, give to the bit, flexing at the poll and giving head side to side. Depending on weather we also ride outside and down the road getting your c**ts used to traffic.

We spent this last week at our first ABRA world show with BZ ShowUr SquirtGuns, our 2021 Dun stallion. (Aka: Reno, Baby Daddy or SquirtGun to some lol) Pretty cool to have all of our stallions World or Reserve World Champions, and two of them being home raised.
We weren't expecting much from our guy as we spent from April to July 1st breeding with one show under his belt this year. Reno had quiet rides all week and naturally, always things to work on for next year, but we couldn't be more proud of him. Reno handled all the new obstacles very well, and his riding classes were mares and studs.
Clark showed Reno to 3rd place in Jr Ranch Trail, 4th place in Jr Ranch Riding, 4th place in Jr Ranch Pleasure, and we ended the week with a Reserve World Champion Jr Ranch Conformation.

We have 4 weanlings available by BZ ShowUr SquirtGuns, all eligible for regular IBHA & ABRA papers.

We have people ask us a lot how do you get your babies so quiet.... 🤷‍♀️ well brains help 🤣 but we dont isolate them from real life stuff.
Around here they learn the big scary noisey tractor brings you food, the crazy lady that wants to scratch you all the time does in fact feed you and wont go away until you let her. Then if shes trying to get pictures of you she will follow you around with flag so you either stand there and take it or in their case be fascinated by it. 🤦‍♀️
