One of the biggest issues in animal care is when people push human emotions and human standards onto animals instead of learning what that species actually needs.

That’s when things start going sideways.

A rabbit does not measure happiness the same way a human does. They don’t look at a cage and think, “This is unfair.” They care about things like:

• Safety
• Cleanliness
• Proper space to move/stretch (some of you actually need to research this!)
• Good ventilation
• Fresh food and water
• Protection from predators/weather
• Daily observation and proper care

People get so focused on making things look nice to humans that they ignore what actually matters to the animal.

Could some setups be bad? Absolutely. Neglect is neglect. Small filthy cages, no enrichment, dirty water, no exercise, poor sanitation, that’s a problem.

But a clean, properly sized setup that meets the animal’s needs is not abuse just because it doesn’t match someone’s living room aesthetic.

We need to stop judging animal care through human feelings and start judging it through species-specific welfare. Facts over feelings.

Simple Wishes Jet 2 Holiday, a lilac tort older junior buck that is also growing out here. Full sibling to Rhinestone Cowboy. He wasn’t cooperative with holding his head down so this is the best I could get. NFS
