A day trip to Ourika Valley and Atlas mountain. Visited really inspiring women’s collectives run by Berbers. The women craft the rugs which when sold have the name of the artist, funds get paid directly to her. There are also women collectives for Argan oil-I had no idea what a painstaking process it is to expel the oil. The Berber men have collective for the pottery and ceramic goods. We were fortunate enough to have lunch on the side of a mountain in a traditional Berber home. It was perhaps the highlight of our trip in Marrakech.
