Reclamation & Migration: A 25th Anniversary Reflection on a Moment that Still Lives🍻❤️🍻

Once upon a time — five years ago, though the memory still feels warm in the hands —
Harlem Brew South and Black Brew Culture stood together and launched a festival
that would ripple far beyond its first gathering. This video and interview captures some of those memories-Big shout to Jon at Say Red Studios.

From that shared spark, Blacktoberfest was born — a celebration shaped by reclamation, carried by migration, and rooted in the deep, ancient tradition of our people crafting culture through craft.

We gathered at Dirtbag Ales and Taproom, in Fayetteville, NC along with Black Frog Brewery, Brew and Feed, Cajun Fire Brewing Company, Montclair Brewery, Sankofa Beer, and Spaceway Brewing, to brew the first collaborative Märzen‑style Ale, The kettles jammed and the air felt charged with possibility.

As the festival grew, Harlem Beer Distributing NC carried that story outward,
placing our culture on shelves and into communities across the state —
a migration of flavor, memory, and meaning.

Time has moved us in different directions,
as it often does. But the impact of that season —
the unity, the creativity, the purpose —
still lives in every memory and every pour.

Here’s to what we created.
Here’s to what remains.
Here’s to the journey that still whispers its name.

Craft your own DIY curated bar crawl through some of Harlem’s beloved restaurants—Sylvia’s Sylvia's Restaurant - Red Rooster Red Rooster Harlem Live Music Nights , Settepani, Settepani Restaurant - Amy Ruth’s Official Amy Ruth's Restaurant - Melba’s Melba’s Restaurant - Blvd Bistro BLVD Bistro and more.

At noon, we host a special What’s Brewing Talkback, marking 20 years since our Sugar Hill Beer commercial featuring Antonio “Huggy Bear” Fargas - Antonio Fargas Antonio joins filmmaker Nicole Franklin Nicole Franklin and Brewer/EP Celeste Beatty for a rich conversation on craft, culture, and legacy.

For our North Carolina community (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill: Celebrate Juneteenth at Dix Park Dix Park then stop by Total Wine Capital Blvd Total Wine & More for Patsy Young 1808 Ale and Sugar Hill Golden Ale. The celebration doesn’t stop there—pull up for a chicken and beer pairing your with Dame’s Chicken & Waffles Dames Chicken & Waffles . On June 20, visit Weaver Street Market Weaver Street Market in Raleigh, and continue the celebration at Black Farmers Hub Demetrius Hunter in Raleigh with Harlem Brewmosa and local produce special food menu

In July, we head to Philadelphia for the Negro Leagues Jubilee Negro Leagues Family Alliance and MLB All‑Star Weekend, Major League Baseball debuting our Thunder Twins Beer collaboration with Two Locals Brewery Two Locals 🇱🇷🇯🇲
We also welcome Ragtime composer Reginald Robinson Reginald R. Robinson for a special Talkback and IG performance debuting Doing the Sugar Heel: A Ragtime Stomp & Two Step.

Then back to the Mecca, where the Garden got loud, But the Spurs scratched back — one win, still proud.They snapped something sacred, scarred our pristine floor, But champions don’t flinch — they just hunger for one more. Now Saturday evening, the plane touches down, The Black Stallion gallops through a Texas town. Three wins in the bag, but the job ain’t complete, One more in the Alamo, then we bring home the heat. No looking ahead to a Garden Game 6, Close it out on the road — that’s how dynasties click. Wemby stretches to the rafters, no doubt, Seven-foot-five with that impossible reach and clout. But we already solved that riddle thrice, OG on his hip, making paradise. Brunson owns this stage, the puppet master in control, Every pick-and-roll a dagger to the soul.—The Black Stallion rides through the dust and the roar, 2026 NBA Champions — finally, once more. One city. One team. One dream made true. You Gotta Believe. The Mecca came through. Let’s Go Knicks! In San Antonio, bold. The Stallion rides home with our Gold. The reckoning is over. The clock hit its final tick. The 2026 NBA Champions: the New York Knicks.
