Funny how life works, isn't it? When we are young, we take the simplest, sweetest things for granted. Growing up in Odisha, my mom made authentic saag and regional curries almost every day. Back then, I didn't care for them much.
Fast forward to today, living in the US... those are the exact flavors I crave the most. But you can't just walk into a neighborhood supermarket and buy fresh pumpkin leaves. So, every single year, I plant them in my backyard.
Harvesting fresh kakharu patra and recreating those traditional recipes isn't just about cooking anymore. It’s my way of staying connected to my roots, my childhood, and my mom’s love❤️
