Farming life! A message from Farmer Chris about the FREE corn maze opening Saturday.

New fall hours -
Wednesday/Thursday 4pm - 8pm
Friday 12pm - 8pm
Saturday/Sunday 10am - 8pm

We still have flowers, sweet corn, and zestar apples.

Mums are ready to take home.

All of the goodies available in the market.

This weekend's donut schedule:
Everyday we have plain and cinnamon-sugar.
Friday - Strawberry
Saturday - Blueberry
Sunday - Chocolate

This weekend (August 21-23) at Schell Family Farm:

~U-pick sweet corn
~U-pick zestar apples

Donut Schedule -
Every day cinnamon-sugar and plain
Friday - chocolate
Saturday - strawberry
Sunday - blueberry

We also have 12 flavors of Ashby's ice cream, including favorites Michigan Pothole and Lemon Cheesecake Bar!

Bring the kiddos out to visit the pigs and play on the playground.

Lastly, field trips are starting to get booked. If you know a group that would be interested in visiting pass along this flyer.

This weekend starting today, Friday August, we have Zestar apples available for u-pick. These are the Schell Family's favorite! Come get'em before the birds do! (For some reason they are the birds favorite too!) Zestar are a more tart apple, but they good for almost anything.
$8 - 1/2 peck
$28 - 1/2 bushel

Lots of corn to pick also! $4/dzn, $20/6 dzn.

We also have fresh garden veggies, including green beans, in the market.

On this installment of "Good News, Bad News":

Its been a rough year so far!

Good news-

Our fall crops, so far, are looking great.
Zestar apples are coming! We are doing a check this evening to see if we start picking this weekend or if we need to wait a week.
Our first planting of corn is done, but the next planting is ready so we will be picking from that.

We still have a few bushel of peaches available

Bad news-

FLOWERS!! Our poor wildflowers are not as beautiful as years past. Like many other crops, there was a delay in the growing process, which caused weeds to grow around them. There are still lots of beautiful flowers, but there's even more green. Between those and the cut flower garden, though, you can still make gorgeous flower bouquets!

The life of a farmer - lots of ups and downs. This is the one of the big reasons we decided to diversify our farm. Mother Nature is cranky this year!! And its stressing us all out!

Great news - We will be bringing in peaches this weekend! They will be coming from our friends on the west side, Overhiser Orchards. As of this morning the peaches are still on the trees, so they will be nice and fresh when they get to us! We know this is not the same as u-pick, but we still wanted to provide delicious Michigan grown peaches.

We have made a google form to pre-order. Please consider doing this so we can have an idea of how many peaches to pick up. It's a great way to make sure you get them. Once paid for we will package your order and have it ready.

If you do not want to pre-order, but would still like to stop by this weekend to purchase some, please leave a comment below so we do our best to provide peaches for those interested. This will be first come, though, if not pre-paid. Once these sell out, we will be done with peaches for the season.

The farm season has officially begun!!

Come on out and get your craving fix for donuts, pizza, Ashbys ice cream and/or slushies.

Wander the farm and see the cut flowers and wildflowers that are starting to bloom , pick your own corn, visit he piggies and let the kids run some energy out at the playground.

Pick up farm-made honey and syrups, or any of the other fun merchandise we have in the market.

For the next month we are also doing a fundraiser to help Ellie with softball! For $20 per card, you get a chance to win up to $200 per week for 15 weeks. We are sweetening the pot with a free cider slushie or 1/2 dozen donuts with each card purchased!
