🌽Corn chopping for 2026 is officially complete here at Spring Run Dairy!🌽

🌽Our corn silage is chopped, packed and stored away to feed our cows throughout the year ahead.

🌽What exactly is corn silage? Corn silage is the entire corn plant (the stalk, leaves, husk, and ear) chopped into small pieces and harvested at the right stage of maturity, which we determine in conjunction with our dairy nutritionist. Once it is packed and stored properly, it ferments and preserves the nutrients that our cows will depend on as an important part of their diet for the next year.

🌽Putting up a good corn silage crop is one of the most critical jobs of the year on a dairy farm. We use a custom harvesting team for corn chopping because it takes a lot of specialized equipment, experience and people to get the job done efficiently. Having a dedicated crew allows us to harvest a large number of acres in a short amount of time.

🌽Now that harvest is finished, the next step is putting those nutrients back into the soil. We’ll spread manure on the fields to return nutrients and organic matter to the soil, and then we’ll plant a cover crop to help protect the soil and keep nutrients in place through the fall and winter.

🌽It’s all part of the cycle of farming, growing the crop; harvesting it to feed our cows, returning nutrients to the soil and preparing the fields for another growing season.

All September dates and times for our new Calf Feeding Experience are full! There was more interest than we anticipated, so we’ve decided to add some dates in October! Email us or send a private message if you’d like to join us!

$150 for a group up to 5 people. $200 for a group up to 8 people. Children under 18 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

This experience includes all parts of doing calf chores - filling bottles, feeding calves, filling grain and water buckets. Lots of time for calf cuddles, brushing calves and taking pictures at the end!

Good morning and happy Saturday!!

We are fully stocked with fresh milk this weekend, eggs, baked goods (bread, muffins, cookies), new products from Jersey Barnfire Co, ice cream and lots of other farm goods!

U-pick flowers are still growing and looking nice, come cut some before the season is over! 🌸

And exciting news, starting this weekend, you can now find our milk at Sweet Valley Farms in Ringoes, NJ!

We are open daily from 10:00am - 5:00pm!

🐮✨ A VERY SPECIAL SPRING RUN DAIRY EXPERIENCE ✨🐮

We’re opening the doors for something we’ve never offered before…an exclusive, hands-on opportunity to experience what it’s really like to care for dairy calves on a working family farm!

Introducing our **Calf Feeding Experience** This is a private, behind-the-scenes experience with our youngest members of the herd. 🐄

Guests will join us for part of the daily calf routine, including:
Preparing calf bottles
Feeding the calves
Filling grain buckets
Filling water buckets
Learning what goes into raising healthy calves

And once the work is done… it’s time for the fun part!

Guests will have time to cuddle, brush and spend time with the calves, and of course, take plenty of pictures along the way!

To make the experience even more special, each guest will receive a FREE 12 oz. bottle of our farm-fresh white or chocolate milk to enjoy after their visit.

✨VERY LIMITED AVAILABILITY✨

We’re only offering this experience on select weekend dates, with just one morning and one afternoon time slot each day. Once the spots are filled, they’re filled!

Real Milk. Raised Right.

Fresh milk (just bottled yesterday!) is in the farm store! We are also restocked with ice cream, eggs, and farm goods! Fresh beef will be back in stock soon and baked goods will be here Saturday morning! It's a beautiful day to visit the farm!

The farm store is open daily 10am-5pm. Please respect our posted signs for speed limits - there are lots of animals, customers and tiny humans at the farm and we want everyone to remain safe while visiting!

We had so much fun both seeing old friends and meeting new friends at the Dairy Tasting tonight at the Hunterdon County 4-H & Agricultural Fair! 🍀🥛🍦

We served up a lot of delicious ice cream from sandys_scoops (made with our whole milk of course) and our very own chocolate milk. It’s so fun sharing our low temp vat pasteurized milk with our community! Thanks to everyone who took time tonight to come meet us and chat about our creamery. We love sharing our story with you!
