Our First Farm

We visited a local farm this past weekend! Not because our boys don’t get enough experience of farm life, but because Farmcraft Farm is a perfect example of a successful regenerative farm.

I know them personally, and have already asked them some questions, but we’ve been wanting to see their farm in person and really wanted to get some tips and ideas as we plan to expand what we are already doing.

Using the animals and nature in synchronicity is key to a successful farm in my eyes. You’re not only raising happy & healthy animals that then go on to keep the community healthy, but you are also keeping the land alive and fruitful as well. No antibiotics, vaccines, herbicides or pesticides necessary.

Regenerative agriculture is how we can heal this planet.

Nothing like a little post-dinner entertainment courtesy of Barley. This little guy makes us laugh anytime we see him running around. Ivy joins in sometimes too and they run around like puppies!

Meet Barley!! 🖤

I was on my way home from Mother’s Day brunch when Scott called me and his words were, “Calf on the ground!!” I couldn’t have been more excited to get back!!

This is our first calf to be born onto the farm! 1st-time momma, Frankie did so great and is being the most caring and tentative mom.

I can’t tell you how amazing it is to look out the window and see that little wobbly-legged baby walking (& occasionally) running around the pasture!

With our 3rd baby due any day now, I’ve been finding myself staring & watching our two still very little boys..
And one day this week, I kept my phone on me and grabbed little videos of those times where I would catch myself thinking, “man I hope I remember these moments” 🥺

I can’t control the world…but I can control their childhood ☀️

I miss the simplicity of growing up in the 90s..
But being a mom made me realize I can control how they’re raised and do what I can to make it like the childhood I had.

In a world full of screens, busy schedules, constant noise and negative news…I choose:

• More time outside
• More time being bored
• More chances to help, explore, and just be kids
• Less screens, toxins, schedules and pressure.

More of the simple life that I remember as a kid. 🫶🏼

I know I’m not alone…Anyone else trying to bring back the 90s into their homes and how they raise their little ones?
