🚨We closed up shop for the afternoon (6/8 @ 2 pm). I'll update if they go back out this evening at all.

Your friendly neighborhood farm kids are outside this afternoon selling their homemade, fresh squeezed strawberry limeade! The strawberries are fresh from our own garden!
I'll update this post when they're done but the plan is to be out until 2 pm!

We'll try to get back out tonight for a little as well.

⛈️We did it!⛈️

It wasn't without a tremendous amount of help. Greg's been fighting with the right side knotter as we started hay season so it was an all team effort getting the last of the hay off the ground before it rained.

I watched the knotter assembly to flag Greg if it missed, Greg drove the baler, my dad drove the hay wagon with his truck, one of my brothers picked up bales, and my mom kept an eye on the kids.

Now we will be back to our regular scheduled barn renovation content. 🤣

If you are new here this is Conrad and he collects aluminum cans!

He's been hard at work. He's slowly getting that hard work = money and we'd love to continue fueling his fire.

He's been crushing cans as they come to the farm and he asked to make a video tonight to let those of you who may not know that he collects can and take them to the scrap yard for money for his piggy bank!

When you farm, you have to strike while the weather is dry.☀️

Greg is busy cutting hay for the winter, and we had a grow-out pen infiltration situation that needed fixed immediately. So naturally, I took over the project with my extensive carpentry skills. (Please hear the sarcasm.🤣)

Greg got me started by setting up the air compressor and staple gun, but after that I was on my own. I wire-cut fencing, hammered fence staples into the base, staple-gunned hardware cloth to reinforce the sides, and moved the entire pen.

Is it winning any beauty contests? Absolutely not.

But it works, the chicks are secure, and I'm pretty proud of myself for figuring it out. Sometimes farm life is less about knowing exactly what you're doing and more about being willing to tackle the problem in front of you and figuring it out as you go.
