Homemade spaghetti sauce! 100 pounds of tomatoes harvested and processed this weekend.

It’s never ending. I’m not complaining. At least we will have homegrown, safe to eat food on the shelf. Yesterday I did 50 pounds of tomatoes. From that I made a SPICY batch of salsa. Today I’m going to make some old fashioned spaghetti sauce, plain tomato sauce, salsa, and probably try some ketchup. All at Ferns & Vines LLC.

Harvested 65.75 pounds of tomatoes from the garden. Making BBQ Sauce and maybe a few quarts of Basil & Garlic pasta sauce. Ferns & Vines LLC all homegrown on site and processed here too!

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control today confirmed that Minnesota businesses received products containing jalapeños that have been recalled due to Salmonella contamination.

As of today, Freshness Guaranteed-brand mild and spicy pico de gallo products sold at Walmart stores are the only Minnesota products on the Taylor Fresh Foods recall from Citrus Coast Distributors of Sinaloa, Mexico. Specific stores that received recalled product are not known at this time.

Consumers, restaurants, and retailers should not eat, sell, or serve recalled products.
