Apparently if you want to post over 3 minute videos on IG and FB it won’t show to new people. So I uploaded my video to YouTube 🙃

Take me back to 2009 when sharing was fun and not every video had to be perfectly curated and aesthetically pleasing.

This Autumn I’m trying to not let any garden produce go to waste. I’m pickling Pepper Relish + Moving chickens around + schooling + picking more peppers - which I forgot to film, but I did share my biggest pumpkin grown this year!! I’m super excited about that!

Life is crazy busy here!

If we haven’t met yet, Hi!! I’m Angie, I figured I’d do a quick ‘about me’ ✨ I’m a SAHM and I also homeschool all of our children (graduated our oldest this past year!) We have been slowly starting our farm + renovating our (old, but new to us) home. Saving money is my hobby. Trying to keep myself and my family healthy in this crazy world - so growing food has been a top priority for me. I’m a life long student —> learning everything I can while I’m able too. I LOVE to read 🤍 My husband (Ben) works full time -but- most of you who follow us know him because he’s the face you meet when you pick up your bulk orders 😅 I’m a little shy but I’m working on it!! I have a lot of interests so I’ll probably bounce from topic to topic if we ever chat in person 😂 if you know me in person, loooveee yoouuu ((bigs hugs))!

Just know I appreciate all of you so much and your encouragement throughout the years. I know I don’t post that much, something I am trying to get better at, please do let me know if you want to see more of what we are doing 🤍

We expanded the garden this year. 2 more plots.

To grow pumpkins and squash.

And corn.

The corn didn’t do so well. The weeds took over and I think, I didn’t apply enough nutrients.

But still, I’m happy with what we got this year 🥰 the produce is taking over the kitchen and any nook and cranny I can stuff them into. This is only a partial of our squash/pumpkin harvest 🤍

Some conversations continue to float around in my head.

We were picking more berries today and I’m smiling, knowing I haven’t spent $$$ on a pint of berries all year 👏🏻

Not everyone will understand why you go the lengths you do for fresh produce.

For planting your own garden.

For raising your own food.

That’s okay, they can spend the money on produce at the store - but you and me - we’ll know we did the work.

We know what it takes to grow our food.

We’ll know that it isn’t laced with chemicals we can’t name.

Most importantly, when the grocery bill climbs so high - we’ll know we won’t starve to a system that doesn’t want us to prosper. Even if it is only a little bit in the beginning.

We become resilient.

We become the change with one berry bush at a time.

I grew up poor. No one taught me how to garden or preserve my food. I knew I didn’t want to go hungry and I didn’t want my children to experience an empty kitchen. I taught myself through books and YT videos. You can do the same. All it takes is the WANT to learn. Learn to be different. Learn a different way. And the course of your life will change 🤍

(Yes, it takes a while for berries to develop and come in, so plant the bushes now! We bought ours in bulk from Berlin Seeds) God Bless x
