Our first (of many to come) kidding season with Miss Poppy who gave us two little Nigerian Dwarf bucklings on April 17.
We’ve been anticipating and watching carefully for signs as we knew she was close to giving birth but she must have wanted the peace and quiet because she ultimately gave birth (unassisted) in the afternoon while I was at work and Ryan was out working the farm.

We are so smitten by these two and they are doing so well. Poppy is the best mama and bucklings are feeding time champs🏅

We bring this to you all to say that we are introducing a strong line of dairy goats to ⭐️S O O N⭐️ provide a line of goat milk products to our shelves alongside our tallow products. Stay tuned as we bring you updates on these products and what will be available.

Every time I post about soap made with lye, many get the “ick” thinking it’s bad. But here’s the thing - not all “soap” is actually soap—and understanding the difference can totally change how you care for your skin.

Real soap is created through a simple, traditional process called saponification, where oils/fats combine with lye and water to form a gentle, cleansing bar. That’s exactly how we make every bar here at Tallow Home Co.

These natural ingredients come together to produce:
🧼Glycerin (a skin-loving humectant that commercial companies often remove)
🧼Creamy lather without synthetic foaming agents
🧼A balanced, gentle clean that supports your skin barrier

Our main fat (beef tallow) closely mimics the structure of human sebum, making it incredibly nourishing and well-tolerated by most skin types.

Many store bought bars aren’t soap at all—they’re detergent bars. They often include ingredients like Synthetic foaming agents, Chemical preservatives, Artificial fragrances, Fillers and hardeners, and Petroleum-based ingredients.

These can strip the skin’s natural oils, disrupt the moisture barrier, and leave your skin dry or irritated.

Real soap supports real skin. It’s biodegradable, simple, and made with recognizable ingredients you can trust.
We keep our recipes clean, traditional, and purposeful—crafted in small batches by hand and cured for quality.

This change reflects the direction our small business has naturally been moving toward—creating intentional, handmade home and body products that bring beauty, comfort, and calm into your daily rhythm. While flowers will always be a part of my story (and my heart), the growth and demand for our tallow products, candles, and seasonal goods (wreath season, I’m talking about you!) made it clear that it was time to step into a name that represents who we are becoming.

This shift has been made with so much intention — honoring where we started while embracing the growth of our tallow products and the purpose behind them.

We’ve heard your requests to make this bar scented, so we did just that! Now offering our charcoal detox bar lightly scented with peppermint for the ultimate spa experience right at home.

Activated charcoal is known for its beneficial impact on the health of your skin. Helping with acne, eczema, and psoriasis. The scent of peppermint giving a sense of energy. Add these benefits on top of the main ingredient- tallow, and you get the creamiest, most luxurious and uplifting lather with every use.

*we will still offer our unscented charcoal detox soap option as well

Beautiful day for a wedding 💍

Over the weekend, we celebrated the joining of my brother and his new wife, Erin. We couldn’t be happier for these two and their future together! 💕

With a mixture of faux and fresh flowers, we brought the brides vision to life with a simple yet elegant vibe. Small pops of blue everywhere you turned.
And if you’re new to flowers or well-versed, you know that true blue florals are hard to come by. 😉
A gorgeous day filled with an abundance of love and laughter for these two.
