This little girl born this year just wants to be loved. Her Momma still doesn't want to be nice. Thinking about moving her to a new farm, but she is so sweet I want to keep her!

We hatched eggs from a couple of mixed coops and were hoping for some interesting egg layers. We got one hen and ALL the rest roosters. BUT, look at these beautiful guys!!

This years garden brought new challenges. We have had a beautiful crop of tomatoes, but fought pests like leaf legged bugs and tomato horned worms. I found 8! Eight! of these guys on our tomatoes tonight!! They have eaten well enough, and the chickens enjoyed the treat! We don't use pesticides due to keeping bees.

The sound of a canning jar popping the lid after processing is AMAZING!
We did some tomato juice and Fig/strawberry jam. Thanks to our friends for the figs!!

Feeding the bees. The dearth is when the flowers stop blooming and the nectar flow slows down. They still need to eat and store for winter.

THIS is what small farm looks like!! We garden to provide for ourselves later. 7 jars at a time if that what it takes! We will have better sauce, chili, jambalaya and any other tomato dish!
