In today’s rebuilding environment, replacement female decisions carry long-term consequences for herd performance and profitability. In the latest issue of Red Angus Magazine, we take a practical look at what truly matters in a replacement heifer – from fertility and longevity to cow size, milk and matching genetics to available resources.

Succession planning isn’t just about land, cattle and balance sheets. It’s about people, communication and protecting a legacy for generations to come.

In this month's Red Angus Magazine, we explore how ranch families across the country are approaching succession with intention, honesty and flexibility. From starting tough conversations early to using tools like trusts, life insurance and long-term transition plans, these families are proving there’s no perfect formula, only the commitment to do something.

Read how Red Angus producers are navigating ranch succession to keep both the operation and the family strong. Turn to page 44 or read online at redangus.org/ram-magazine/

American Red Program Expanded

The Red Angus Association of America has enhanced the American Red program to strengthen genetic qualifications and expand enrollment opportunities for producers in heat-challenged environments.

By pairing Red Angus maternal efficiency and carcass performance with Bos indicus adaptability, the updated program delivers southern-adapted profit power for operations across the South, Southeast and other hot-climate regions.

Integrated with Angus Access and Allied Access, the program also provides traceability, certification and improved market visibility through USDA-approved verification.

Read more in the January issue of Red Angus Magazine to learn how the American Red program is meeting modern production and market demands. Turn to page 20 or read online at redangus.org/ram-magazine/
