It may be a holiday, but we were busy working to get farm goodies ready for the market tomorrow.

We have blackberry jelly, mimosa jelly, and zucchini relish. Plus watermelon jelly and rind preserves, along with your favorite wildflower jellies.

The $1 zucchini sale is back. We also have green or yellow beans, peas, and a few summer veggies.

Grab your favorite zucchini bread, or try the banana zucchini bread we made this week.

It's going to be a beautiful day, so get out yo the market Saturday 8am to noon. See you there.

Milby Farm has donated some large squash to the West Point Community Lil' Free Pantry Shacklefords location. These are great to cut up and fry, or grate to make baked goods. There are plenty of recipes online.

Little pantries help people in our community that have unexpected expenses, or are in between jobs. There are 2 in West Point and this one in Shacklefords. Also, my family runs the Gloucester Courthouse Little Free Pantry. If you have the means, please consider donating non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, or baby goods. Or just follow on Facebook and share this info.

Go out and grab a big zucchini, and consider putting a few items in the pantry. Your neighbors may greatly appreciate it!

We spent the cool morning picking the garden. We have plenty of fresh beans: green or yellow wax beans. Also zucchini or yellow squash of all sizes. We plan to get some of this in jars, but these items are all for sale here at the farm. Just call/text 804-832-8886 to schedule a pickup time here in Shacklefords!

Zoom in! See what looks like tiny grains of rice in each cell? Now you've seen a Honeybee egg. These are not standing straight up, so they are 2-3 days old. In 18-19 days, a bee will emerge from each of these cells. As a beekeeper, we look for eggs to make sure we still have a healthy queen, because finding her this time of year is difficult!

We are looking forward to another beautiful day at the market tomorrow. Come out and grab some wildflower jellies, Strawberry jam or zucchini bread. We also have watermelon jelly and watermelon rind preserves.

New this week: zucchini relish and zucchini pickles. We also have BEANS . . . green beans and yellow wax beans.

Help!!!!!!! We are over run with ZUCCHINI AND SQUASH! So, we are having a $1 sale. All zucchini and squash, any size, just $1. It's a great way to stock up.

We will be in West Point from 8am to noon. Hope to see you then.
