Black Eagle Ranch Nigerians We raise registered Nigerian Dwarf goats for show and as pets. We have a clean, tested herd. My name is Pat Blank. We are also members of AGS and NDGA.

My husband Terry and I moved to our acreage in NE Iowa 37 years ago. We started with two pygmy goats and loved them, but discovered their dairy counterparts the Nigerian Dwarfs in 2000. We had some of the first of the breed in Iowa and have watched their popularity grow especially in the last 5 years. Our herd name is now permanently registered with the ADGA. Our herd tested negative in the fall of 2023 for CAE, CL and Johnes. We dam raise our babies, but handle them daily so they are people friendly without being obnoxious.

We got this lovely message from one of our newest friends, Kevin. He and his family purchased two Black Eagle Ranch doelings in June and picked them up two weeks ago. Thanks Kevin!

Kevin and Amy Nie :
I would like to give a huge shout out and thank you to Black Eagle Ranch Nigerians for the two BEAUTIFUL doelings I purchased from you. I appreciate doing business with a class “A” goat owner/breeder who’s been in the business a long time. Pat has tons of knowledge and experience, and makes it a point to share it with others, from seasoned owners to those just getting started. I feel very fortunate to have found Black Eagle Ranch Nigerians and Pat Blank. Thank you!

We have important news to share! Next weekend we will begin the breeding process for 2027 kids. The "important" part of this message is that we will only be breeding FIVE does this time and ONLY in September for February kids. NO June babies in 2027. We will be posting pairings soon. Just wanted to share this info as you make plans for next year and may be considering adding a Black Eagle Ranch kid to your herd.

Our friend Brantley had a good day the show ring taking home two blue ribbons. His 2 year old goat in milk Black Eagle Ranch Roxy made the champion drive for the 2nd year in a row. His own doeling BB's Country Kids Oreo did well in a competitive and crowded class. The judge also had good things to say to him in the Showmanship class and I believe if there was a 3rd place he would have won it. Congrats Brantley.

Our next door neighbor and friend Kate stopped by on this rainy morning to help prepare the June kids for their new homes. We tattooed those who are registered and gave CD/T boosters. Thanks Kate! 🐐💉

Today we are celebrating our longtime friend Izzie Nonnweiler who won 2026 Grand Champion Specialty Goat at the North Iowa Fair in Mason City. Izzie won her goat Black Eagle Ranch Angel Face aka Olive from the Iowa Dairy Goat Association's Share a Kid program in 2020. They've been in the ring every year since taking home ribbons and several awards. In 2021, Izzie showed with a broken wrist! Congratulations and best wishes in your next adventures.
